I'm glad Ole is staying.

Mon May 12, 2014 1:52 pm

I'm not denying that Ole has made some big mistakes since taking over in January.
His tinkering and computer game like changes have been bizarre at times and have left me completely bewildered. Against Palace and Hull in particular, I knew that we'd lose the games as soon as we heard the line ups!

However Ole strikes me as a fella who is hard working and willing to learn. I honestly believe that he will be prepared for the championship next year.

If we get Guerra and the rumours about Lewis Grabban are true then he will have addressed our biggest problem for 2 seasons already and we will have two players who scored just under 40 goals between them for unfancied teams in their respective divisions this season.

In goals we could have Marshall, Moore and Lewis (and if Marshall does decide to leave we could have Nyland from Molde).

Full backs we'll have John, Brayford, Fabio, Kevin Mcnaughton. I'd sell KTC and Taylor.

We'd probably lose Caulker and then we'd be left with Cala, Hudson, Turner, so we'll probably need to add one more preferably with a bit of pace.

Wingers, we have Kim, Kadeem, Noone and Daehli. I'd maybe add one more and play Daehli in the hole.

Midfield

We will probably lose Mutch and Medel. I will be sad to see Mutch go and I think he would be tough to replace. He gives us genuine drive from midfield and I think this has become a rarity in today's football.
We will still have Whitts, Gunnar (who was good in the championship) Eikrem who I can't really comment about and Cowie who can do a job if he plays like he did when we first signed him and he carried a bit of a goal threat.
I honestly believe we'd need to add a bit of bite to that midfield to give us what Gary Medel was supposed to give us!

Up top I'd leave Bellamy retire, get rid of Kenwynne, then we'd be left with Grabban, Guerra, Mason, Maynard.
I'd probably add one more to that. Maybe young Healy will come through, or perhaps Ross will come back. I know it's not popular on here but I wish we'd kept Rudy. His unpredictability and raw presence can cause mayhem when it's needed and would make us more unpredictable.

I think that's a decent squad. If Ole can find a system and give us some continuity I honestly believe that squad is capable of mounting a serious challenge.

I'll judge him properly after the summer and some time In the championship he deserves at least that

jury still out for me.........im trying to be fair but his subs?.....we either start with a strange looking side, make a few changes, then it looks lots better, or as yesterday looking not to bad against very good opponents,in the lead,he makes the daehli for cowie swap.........mystified......lost us the game is my view, or at least lost us any chance of winning.......this is a serial offence,,is he learning?

Why does everybody think Mutch is going to leave he hasn't been that good.

In fairness, he had to make the Daehli for Cowie swap. It was reacting to Chelsea bringing on Schurrle for Mikel, shurrle towers about Daehli and it would have been a total mismatch. Cowie can track runners betters do I think that was the right call

it was still a mismatch, only from that point the threat of Daeli had gone, we just made it easier for them.
i accept your point..but from purely a Cardiff point ..we lost it there and then.........no doubt Chelsea fans would say master stroke by JM.

Ole said that he subbed Daehli because he was at loss for energy after being sick the last week. Silly saying he lost us the game when you dont know the circumstances.

Of course it was due to him being tired from his illness. Ole stated so himself in this article: http://www.cardiff.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=358769

I'm surprised so many people don't rate him on here. I think he's strong, a powerful ball carrier, he can pass and tackle and he can score goals. Anyone who can find the back of the net for us this season must be half decent!
With one year left on his contract I think it's inevitable that he'll go.

To be fair I think if Daehli was ill it says more about the players left to his disposal than it does about Ole's management skills.
I don't know what has happened to Cowie. When he first signed I'm sure I remember him being one of our more attack minded players and I think I remember him carrying a bit of a goal threat too. Watford fans raved about him when we signed him. Now he seems to just run around chasing shadows and doing nothing. It seems that he has become uber defensive in the same way whitts did! I hope he can regain a bit of confidence for next season.

If Ole can find a system and give us some continuity I honestly believe that squad is capable of mounting a serious challenge.

jury still out for me.........im trying to be fair but his subs?.....we either start with a strange looking side, make a few changes, then it looks lots better, or as yesterday looking not to bad against very good opponents,in the lead,he makes the daehli for cowie swap.........mystified......lost us the game is my view, or at least lost us any chance of winning.......this is a serial offence,,is he learning?

To be fair I think if Daehli was ill it says more about the players left to his disposal than it does about Ole's management skills.
I don't know what has happened to Cowie. When he first signed I'm sure I remember him being one of our more attack minded players and I think I remember him carrying a bit of a goal threat too. Watford fans raved about him when we signed him. Now he seems to just run around chasing shadows and doing nothing. It seems that he has become uber defensive in the same way whitts did! I hope he can regain a bit of confidence for next season.

yes he scored about half a dozen early on and a few assists, the white pele...........if he signed for us now, playing as he does, that chant would never ever have been sang would it.......he is a totally different player......wierd
