I don't know what your confused about Stones had a much better season than Caulker and to be honest I'm suprised Smalling got the spot over him. Flanagan is there to cover the fullback positions

Without Caulker it would have been THE worst defensive record. He was in the England squad a few weeks ago so there's no reason he wouldn't be in with a chance for the World Cup squad, no matter how much you don't like him

Stones is a far better player than Caulker and Flanagan is a full back who has been superb this season.

I would have put Jason puncheon in there, he's been brilliant this season.
