Plastic fans who say "WE"!!?

Mon May 12, 2014 8:32 am

'Fans' who say 'we' when talking about their chosen big Premier league team, yet they were born, bred and live not just in another county but another country from that town or city. Bonkers, if you lived there fair play, Youngsters, fair enough (I was a young Evertonian myself! cos of their 3 welsh players) , not grown ups wearing liverpool tops walking round Newport etc . Be proud of where your from and support your local team like hopefully you do when supporting your country. Exceptions are like My mate is a jock and has been going to Cardiff games with me for 15 years as he lives there. My wife likes Man Utd as she lived there, my dad likes Liverpool and all the Welsh clubs, thats cool, no shirt wearing and saying , 'we' though He just wants them to win thats fine with me! Newport, Wrexham, Cardiff and the Jacks will never be the massive clubs they could and maybe should be as their potentially huge catchment areas are full of these English team supporters. Worst of all I have seen such plastic Welshmen in a Tredegar pub calling each other 'Mancs' and 'Scousers' and almost coming to blows, bizarre! ! If you want to be one - move there and take on their accent!!!! You couldn't make it up, they will obviously be supporting England this summer then....

Wales is like Malaysia for shirt wearing plastic football fans congregating in pubs for the big matches, Wales footballs plastic polulation :bluescarf:

I actually agree with this. A guy I work with is a Cardiff City ST holder in the family stand...

Problem is, he's really a man utd fan, always on facebook like "We will be back and strong next year"
"Hope the scousers dont win the league"
"MoyesOut"
and i'm sat there thinking - I couldnt give a flying f**k about the title race.... The relegation scrap is where our attention should be.

Really annoys me

Just to get this right you dislike plastics with no affiliation to the town or City of the club they choose to support. That in itself is kind of fair enough but people do have the right to choose their own path and make decisions for themselves, just as you have the right to an opinion on the matter. What I find funny is the claused you put in the thread.

What you are saying is that you dislike plastics but... there is an age limit on it to rule you out of being in the palstic catagory you are slagging off...What is this age limit?

Your dad is a plastic but it's ok because he doesn't wear a shirt and doesn't say ''we''. But surely he has to be the biggest plastic of them all because he supports not only Liverpool, but Swansea, Wrexham and Cardiff. I will assume that he is from Cardiff and has no affiliation to Swansea and Wrexham so he actually supports 3 clubs he has no affiliation with and thats ok with you but not ok for someone to support 1 team?

I kind of agree with the point your making but it's a bit like the son of Hitler opposing the death penalty.
