Police dog convention...?

Apologies if it's been posted already, but the police presence in the ground and even on the pitch at the end appeared to be completely OTT - all they were missing inside were the horses tied up outside, and the armoured cars.

Could not fathom it - I know Chelsea have a rep but who in SWP thought this was a good idea - smacked of the old-style police philosophy of "meet and beat" rather than today's "meet and greet".

Amusing as it was at times, I thought it could have provoked a reaction, especially those barking Alsations - did love the Canton stand chant "sit down and behave yourselves"

Anyone know why?

Yes probably because there were people on message boards claiming that there was going to be organised trouble in revenge for the kings Road incident.
The police were prepared and there was no trouble. Job done!

I know all that but really? You get that sort of crap on the interweb all over - you don't get 8 police dogs and 50 coppers on the pitch, with shedloads more outside everytime someone spouts off on FaceBook.

I can understand outside, no problem with that, and perhaps a few dotted around under the stands, but on the pitch I thought was OTT.

Anyone would think it was Ninian Park v Leeds!

Must have cost a fortune!
