A highly original play on words! Please give me some ointment for my deep deep burn.

On a side note..It's not like they can control whether or not the balloons go on the pitch. Also it's the officials job to ensure the surface is suitable..
I highly doubt they were serious about booing Marshall...stop being so butthurt

I wouldn't say I was hurt by this, however it did stop the play, I just cannot understand some fans attitude? Embarrassing

Genuinely can't believe people are upset about balloons! :laughing5:

As for nearly costing us an early goal? How? It certainly stopped Chelsea getting an early goal though.

We're already relegated, the game meant f**k all and our identity is always more important. They should be used more regularly IMO

So you're moaning at other people's opinions & yet complaining that others are moaning at your opinion?! :laughing6:

Nice double standards.

Could you please tell us how the balloons nearly cost us an opening goal? All I saw was the balloons certainly preventing an opening goal for Chelsea...

Re: Balloons on the pitch

Sun May 11, 2014 8:02 pm

the fans were not booing marshall they booed the snatch squad that came on to burst ballons.

Re: Balloons on the pitch

Sun May 11, 2014 8:28 pm

If anything they stopped a goal as Torres went past Marshall and the ball got in them! Best defending I've seen from us this season.

With regard to the boos to Marshall, they were meant as fans were disgusted that he was popping the balloons, much like when they sing 'why haven't you scored', they are obviously bitterly disappointed as a goalkeeper he hasn't scored this season.

Whatever the boo's were, I found it embarrassing and cringeworthy to say the least.
