Fuming Vincent Tan launches stunning attack on former Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay .

Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan has laid the blame for relegation firmly at the door of former manager Malky Mackay.

In a remarkable video interview with WalesOnline, Tan slams his former manager for his dealings in the transfer market, accusing him of 'almost killing the club'.

Tan and Mackay's relationship was blown apart early this season, with the owner accusing the Scot and former recruitment chief Iain Moody of a £15m summer overspend.

Both man have always denied the accusations, but they both issued apologies to Tan earlier this week as Mackay dropped legal proceedings against the club and reportedly walked away without a penny of compensation.

In his most incredible interview yet, Tan said there was one man mainly responsible for the club's relegation.

"The main person responsible fro relegation is Malky Mackay, the hero of fans," he said.

"They should ask why he apologises? They should find out from him.

"Legally, I'm not supposed to say. I wish I could say. but I can't. Ask him why he apologises.

"His friends supported him to be a big hero, unfortunately their hero almost killed this club and I was not going to be putting more and more money in.

Furious Tan goes on to heavily criticise Mackay's dealings in the transfer market, revealing his discontent over the signing of Andreas Cornelius and his incredulity the young Danish striker was paid £45,000 a week.

He also insists former Cardiff manager Dave Jones would have done a better job than Mackay and says it was HIS investment and not Mackay's abilities that got the club promoted in the first place.

I really like Malky and am totally against the rebrand, but Tan does have a point. We paid 8.5 million or whatever it was (and $45,000/week) to a player that a Championship side was looking at bringing in for $500,000. The striking issues were never addressed this season. After 38 games a goal here and a goal there keeps us up, even if we concede as many as we did. Whoever the manager was going to be, it was always going to be tough without a decent goal scorer.

Of course he has a point and i agree with him but hes still a total idiot even his latest thing on converting a little debt if we get back to the prem and a supposed compromise two years on just makes me cringe when it was ALL DEBT TO EQUITY just for turning red we was promised. Imagine how many players Dave Jones would have bought for £5mil and not a single one would have been a central midfielder.

I agree with you on debt to equity and the fact that our owner is an assclown. The striker issue is probably the only time I've agreed with him since he took over.

He is a bit burpy, you can almost smell the fish sauce

Its a hard one for a fair weather fan like me to comment on, other teams have spent similar amounts on a fee/wages and got decent strikers with a good return on investment, like Bony.

I think he mean't to say "50 Million" with regards to Jones

No one can argue in support of the striker. Everyone is going to agree it was Malkys downfall and our missing link to premier survival. Its also the hardest job finding one.

Its true what he said. Its something we have said many times on here about Acorn and the transfers.

You have one person handing out a right slating, and another person issuing a public apology. Tan would not be able to publicly criticise Malky in such a manner unless he was in a position to back his comments up should Malky consider he had a claim for libel after Tan's latest outburst. If MM is squeaky clean as suggested by many on this forum, there is no reason why he shouldn't fight back as this is not exactly doing his reputation a lot of good. Tan has messed up by changing to red, but it seems as if Malky has also messed up big time, especially now being publicly accused of almost destroying the club. If Malky remains quiet after this, I think the MM supporters may have to accept that he wasn't completely innocent when he was removed from the club.

But this 150 mil that he says he owes is bullshit, its on the club he has borrowed the money ,no different to Sam Haman,he could walk away tomorrow, its the club that would lose out not him,if he did we would be in deeper doo doo that we was under SH !!

Obviously thats why this so called DEBT TO EQUITY was suppose to happen and the main reson most accepted the rebrand but as we all know its promises that have not come to light time after time and the last promise was when the malky situation was sorted we was told but now its " A little debt to equity " says it f*cking all about the spindle of lies

Probably would have.

1) Rodgers did it on next to nothing
2) Jones found great bargains in the market - Marshall, Whittingham, Hudson, etc. all of whom were great in promotion season
3) He kept us competing at the top whilst having to face financial restrictions and selling best talents

Tan has said what all of us with any common sense have been saying for 8 odd months. Spot on with everything he said, malky achieved jack shit at Watford, and the only reason we got promoted was with the investment.

I wonder what milky did that tan is not allowed to say, I bet part of the deal was milky agreed to walk away for fucall, if Tan did not spill the beans about Milkys big fuk up. Personally I reckon milky was on the fiddle, it's nice to see all of us the have been slating milky all season were spot on, and every1 else now looks stupid :D

Thats just it adam the way tans talking its as if malky is the board to agree on fees and wages to be paid when we all know it has to be santioned by the board, i mean how can that be tans fault it never is :laughing6:

It's not entirely Malkys Fault as he suggests.
But other than that, he is not far off the money.
Why would Malky and Moody Apologise?
If they've done nowt wrong. If they've been the victims of this tyrants nature why apologise?
Acorn bang on money again.

The only thing that is Tan's fault is the rebrand.

How is backing the manager Tan's fault? Not Tan's fault that the people he entrusted to sign quality instead bought players who would struggle to make Rumney AFC's first XI.

I dislike Tan for the rebrand. Whether I can forgive him for that if he were to change us I don't know but doing it would be a good start.

It was the main one, the whole spine was not solid enough and a leaky defence too, I thought with our budget and the money spent we would easily finish higher that Hull and Sunderland Norwich and Palace, and possibly a few more.

Cornelius was a total disaster....
