' VERY DISAPPOINTED '

Sun May 11, 2014 9:33 am

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=141413

Vincent Tan "I will convert some of my debt to equity but not all because the amount is very big. The club owes me maybe £120m and I put in £140m or £150m. Maybe I will convert £50m and leave £100m debt."

The promise was two years ago that he would turn ALL his debt to equity, not part of it and not most of it but ALL of it.

I have stated on numerous times it is important and imperative to this football club to be debt free.

Tan must deliver on his promise to turn ALL his debt to equity otherwise more fans who have given him time will turn against him as well as those who currently oppose him.

I think everyone knows it was a lie ( all debt to equity) to start with, this just confirms it. Nothing supprises me with this idiot anymore. Look at the riddelr protest over the golden ticket ( money for players) then unforseen debts excuse...this is ten times worse and i bet half the people on the riddler march still wouldnt join the fight for blue now

the club of directors who agreed to this need to speak to Tan on this, the deal with the rebrand was to clear our debts not make them bigger , the man is a liar he needs to go now

Re: ' VERY DISAPPOINTED '

At the time he said he would convert. ,the debt was much lower than it is now , if he had done it then we would still now be in about 70 mill of new debt so really nothing has changed .

Disappointed, frustrated, quite frankly pissed off.

Serious question - is it that important the the debt/equity swap happens?

Obviously it would be for the best but how important is it? If a guy owns all of a company, the assets are his anyway so is it such a big deal?

Why is this a surprise to anyone . Oh well , a free scarf hand out on a cold night in the champ should appease thousands . Pathetic

Re: ' VERY DISAPPOINTED '

The man is an outright liar.... And I agree, hugely disappointed about the latest interview! He wants us on his side - yet he's not willing to listen to us right now and do what he promised!

So can all the fans who backed Tan and his lies now admit Tan has failed to deliver, so the fans can all now unite and not let this Dictator destroy our fan base No more  :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

Annis you know I was prepared to be pragmatic about this whole re-brand issue, but no longer, I have absolutely no faith that this man will keep any promise he makes.

My mother always told me never to tell lies because people will never know when you are telling the truth. I have VT in the liar box, insincere and absolutely untrustworthy.

I want him gone whatever the cost to the club.

It doesn't actually matter. Debts do no matter as long as you can make your monthly payments. As the money is owed to Mr Tan, rather than Barclays Bank ( for example), no one is going to foreclose on us.

Man Utd have hundreds of millions of pounds of debt and no one worries about them.

Sorry mate but I see this announcement as a glimmer of hope , he has publicly committed now to sit down with fans and come to a compromise which is a huge swing from his past stance on the subject . A victory for us fans
He has said he is happy for a fan to be on the board which is another big step and another victory for the fans .
He is still willing to convert a similar amount of debt to equity to when he first offered it .
He has publicly said the peaceful well organised protests like the blue at every game have changed his mind on the rebrand .

I see today as a victory for the fans :ayatollah:

Thomas, You dont know the emails I have had direct from our club yesterday, I cant put them out their private, but 5 of us got them and they came via Tan,Dalmam,Lim,Nash to us.

Lets see if Tan can keep his word on something minor, then I might see a glimmer of hope  :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

Wake up ffs. He rebranded us on the promise he would settle our debt. He has now moved the goalposts yet again and thrown us a few crumbs indicating he might work more closely with the fans.
It's now time for him to go, no excuses.

True , but we all know this was never going to be changed back overnight .
Bit by bit we will get there , I prefer to take the small positives from this rather than the one negative . Being rude and disrespectful to a man like tan will not work as was proven with the first two years of protests . The peaceful show of colour has worked all we need to do is carry on this path and not go back to the abusive way of protesting like in the past , that is the last thing we should do .

Re: ' VERY DISAPPOINTED '

Convert hardly f**k all of the debt to equity and use the promise of blue to sweeten the pot. Pretty much sums it up

I'm not trying to defend him but I don't believe he has ever said he will convert ALL his debt to equity.

I don't see how his these figure add up? He says the club owe him £120 million and He's put in £140-£150 million, Does that mean he holds £20-£30 million in equity? If so if he converts more debt to equity leaving debt owed at £100 million, then that would mean he is only converting £20-£30 million? or if he does as he says and converts £50 million, that would leave a debt at £80 million? His figures are very vague and don't add up.

Why should he ? he is a businessman not a charity worker. personally think he has done more than enough for you already. watch what happens when he jumps ship - like rats fleeing a sinking ship .

Been telling you all along.

Roath_Magic_ wrote:
I told you the float was ridiculous and I also told you debt to equity makes no sense. If he only needs to acquire 10% of the club then there is no way he will pay £80m for it, that values the company at £800m pro rata which is bonkers.

I assume there will be a partial debt to equity.

Everything loaned is covered as always.

Castro wrote:This debt to equity scenario still makes absolutely no sense what so ever, and the more the debt rises - the less sense it makes.mFor what possible reason would he ever do it?

Partial debt to equity - sure. But coverting £100m into equity is like a money hungry penny pincher buying a big mac meal for £150 when he could just pay just £6.

His goal is to make money so why give it away?

Yes, he's got about £20m in equity already.

If he converts £50m it will leave £70m debt. (Note selling a few players and living within our means next season would make a further hole in this)

Given a few weeks ago he was saying the debt was £70-£80m I really don't think he's got a clue and is actually surprised and confused by what is happening.

When Tan said he would change dept to equit, the dept was 50 m.
Now he says he will do exactly that.
You cant just demand that he put ALL 120m into equity,
its normal for a club to have debt as well.

As an investor myself, I m shaking my head when I read people here throwing Around 50, 100 , 150 m
like it was some minor things. What a group of financial experts !

It was 100m in the beginning and should be to the end.
