I'm guessing that Vincent Tan wouldn't agree...

Fri May 09, 2014 3:47 pm

to the out of court settlement which will allow Malky to take the Norwich job, unless he got a public apology off him too?

So if Malky wants to take Norwich job, he had no choice really.

Anyone see it a different way?

Think you are right there. After reading Moody's statement too, I bet Tan had something to do with the writing of it. Too much 'I'm so sorry, you are the best' about it for me.

Maybe the LMA who was certainly representing Malky put it together.

Malky didn't get a penny.

Sportsmail understands Mackay hasn't received any compensation and paid own legal fees, in addition to issuing apology.

Daily Mail spot on like usual.

I disagree, he spoke on TV recently of how much he wanted to get back into management and opportunities dont come around every day.

Plus, he will be getting paid at Norwich which he wouldnt be doing so if he didnt take the job, so either way he would be giving up money. May as well do it whilst in a job. :ayatollah:

The fact Malky settled is telling.

1) He could have pursued this, dragged out the truth, and proved he was right and those who backed him on this were right to do so
2) He would have gained financially in compensation
3) Court costs would be liable to Tan in most cases for losing the case - this may have changed
4) His reputation as a whole would have significantly improved

Why has he settled if he has nothing to hide?

in this case...if whats being reported is accurate......the settlement would be,Malky via his lawyers would inform the club they no longer wanted to persue compensation..the club, not content with that asked for an apology, which they got......the matter settled.....both sides then sign legal documents declaring its over and done.......neither side can persue the other over the matter in the future............

"Sportsmail understands Mackay hasn't received any compensation and paid own legal fees, in addition to issuing apology."

Also, Malky's statement is very carefully worded: "If I have caused any offence to anyone during this time, especially to Vincent Tan, then I apologise without reservation."

There's nothing factual about that statement, the Daily Mail are making assumptions. Malky hasn't admitting to anything and he hasn't made an apology for any wrong doing in his statement. The only apology he's made is IF he's caused any offence to Tan, which he may or may not have done. It's all pure speculation at the moment.

the question you have to ask yourself is why

the statements seem managed, and I don't think there is a doubt that they had to make them... but why? and why would Malky and Moody agree to them? ESPECIALLY if the reports of getting no money are correct

the statements were cringeworthy, left neither man any dignity.....and if truth be told i doubt either man meant what was said.......so what makes two semi wealthy men make statements to ingratiate Tan..when probably, they hate him.?

there are those that say its lots of dosh.........i dont buy that.

Not exactly bothered about how noble Malky is to be honest he's another manager that has come and has now gone. I thank him for his time here, the connection he brought to the fanbase was terrific, something we had been starved of for years under Jones and he also built a team of hungry hard-workers that played for each other, as a fan that is all I ask for, naturally we all want quality and attractive football but work ethic is a must.

Does not change a thing about Tan, the man is a disrespectful ARSE, I despise the fool.
