We are above the Jacks in a Premier League table.
Sorry but this is not the one I want to be mid-table.
It puts into perspective what we have managed (I use the term loosely) to spend on our squad in the past 5 years. I don't think it includes wages, incentive bonuses etc. Seriously, we need to get a grip here. You can't blame Malky for all of this. It is true that he spent a wedge this year, but what about before and since?
Another thing that shocks me is this covers a 5 year period, 80% of which was in Championship! Paint it whichever way you want to, but we need to live within our means and work with the players we have in the first instance. We have a core of more than adequate Championship players, even if we lose our "stars". It's time that the real world of austerity cuts became part of our philosophy.
It's not all doom and gloom. Our expenditure next year should be lower and we will shed some valuable players. We need to look at the loan market for a wages-only option in the interim but surely we can challenge for promotion straightaway.
C'mon Bluebirds!!!

Haha I think most Arsenal fans would agree. However, keeping them in the top four without spending a penny (in terms of net transfers) is an incredible achievement.
