He could be a good fit next to him that's the thing. For his weaknesses are leading and organising. whilst listening to jacks these are the strengths of williams. Caulker has good footballing ability but his still not the finished article and needs a more experienced player alongside him. I was hoping for more from him but he has played with poor players around him for most of the season. You could do a lot worse than him and hope you do. Wouldn't expected anything different to come out of James gob though.

That old chestnut

Fed up of hearing the excuse about players around them being used for Caulker and Medel.

Caulker at fault for first 2 goals last weekend, f**k all to do with the players around him. Been at fault for loads of goals this season but hey lets not blame Caulker he cost 8m he must be a good player.

People just dont want to face up to the facts that Malky blew an absolute fortune on players who simply are just not good enough.

Caulker to Liverpool so the papers say. They must be having a laugh. Hes not a champions league player in a million years.

We needed a leader in the back four and never got one.

I agree with you he's not champions league level and will not be that sorry to see him go either especially after the last few games where his standard of play dropped. I do believe he will be a better player if firstly he's not leading the team which I thought he done badly has his motivational skills seemed non existent. Secondly an experienced defender to organise the back line to let him do what he can do and that's defend. For the money we spent we should have had it all but If someone is willing to part with the cash for a young defender with promise to play with an established partner I think it would be good business alll round

Yes , why spend £6,000,000 on a player who's no better than whats already at the club .Amat , Bartley . Flores . Williams in no particular order are better if not equal to what Caulker offers at the moment . He was thrust into a Captains position trying to play his own game whilst trying to organise lesser players around him . He's good but we've moved on and so should he imo.

He should move on? Are you suggesting that he hasn't? What sound bites have come from him that makes you think he hasn't moved on from a loan spell at Swansea?!

Martin Skrtel and Caulker, now there is a Champions league defence for you :laughing5:

A single player never makes an entire defence. The back four are only as effective as their weakest player. I certainly don't think Caulker is a captain yet. He'd do well in a solid back four and in 3-4 years he could well have what it takes to be captain. He's not in the echelons of Terry, Ferdinand or Cahill but he might be one day.
