Should we Loan Marshall out instead of cash in?

Wed May 07, 2014 10:48 pm

I was just thinking wouldn't it make more sense to loan Marshall to another PL club for a season so they pay his wages and see if we can manage without him in championship? Then if/when we get promoted to PL We can call him back?

very sensible idea provided we get someone else in, unless we get offered silly money

Loaning out a top player wouldn't make any sense, he'll either stick with us or we'll sell him for £££, it's a win/win situation.

Will the money go in Tans pocket though if we sell David? I don't think we will ever have a goalie as amazing as David Marshall to be honest. There were many PL teams envious that we have Marshall

Probably. I'd like to think that it would go towards our transfer budget.

Talking to him last night he seems really settled here with his family and said would not consider going to a big club to sit on the bench.
Also the current situation does not affect his international career. I'm sure he is one of the players that ole intimated whose agents are on the phone daily but I would not be surprised to still see him here next season

Keep him and have one more crack at the premiership. Let's do it properly this time though. :ole:
