Next Years Team Not Bad Already?

Wed May 07, 2014 7:08 pm

Yes it is a question but it doesn't look too bad already and may look better if the likes of Noone, Fabio or Dæhli remain.

Slash the squad of those likely to leave ... Marshall, Caulker, Medel, Campbell & Mutch.

Remove those that may retire ... Bellamy & Smith.

Shave a bit of deadwood or wage thieves ... Kiss, Lappin Théophile-Catherine & Velikonja. (If they will leave).

Even remove those that MAY leave ... Noone, Cala, Fabio & Dæhli.

We still have a pretty decent team before replacements come in.

Lewis
McNaughton
Turner
Hudson
John
Bo Kyung
Gunnarsson
Whittingham
Mason
Jones
Maynard

Moore
Connolly
Taylor
Wolff Eikrem
Cowie
Berget
Brayford
Ralls
Nugent

What's your best team of players that are likely to remain.

The problem is, that is pretty much the team we won the league with last season. But if we scored the same points this season as we did last, we would barely make 3rd. Many of those players to go IMO as they are not good enough, and next seasons champ will be a lot tougher than when we won it.

Totally agree but as it is already the team that won the league last year they know what is needed.

Plus there will be players coming in and hopefully they may be the better picks. Having had a season in the Prem players may think we have the better chance of going straight back.

If they are not snapped up by the Prem we must try and be first in line for McCormack, Rhodes or Feeney if the prices are not extortionate.

I'll be happy if they both stay. Of the players that I thought may stay we were looking weak on the wings so it will be great of Noone stays.

Add Fabio to Noone and Mitch then the team is looking pretty strong but we need a striker that can play at this level.

If we have a disastrous transfer window and don't get anyone a opening day Squad of

Moore
Brayford Hudson Turner Fabio
Kiss Whitts
Kim Berget Harris
Maynard

Lewis, McNaughton, Nugent, Eikrem, Gunnarson, Mason, Jones

Isn't the worst XI in the world that's losing Mutch, Dæhli, Noone, Campbell, Medel, Caulker, Cala, Cowie (contract), Bellamy (contract) and Marshall. To lose all of those would free up a lot of money transfers and wages so you gotta imagine we'd be able to bring in 6-7 players to replace those ten we'd lose.

The players that have been linked to other clubs are:
Chaulker, Marshall, Medel, Daehli and Campbell
Chalker and Medel seems sure to leave.
Marshall and Daehli might stay even if they have other offers IMO.
Not sure about Campbell

I wont mind if Chauker, Medel and Campbell leave. Would like to see Marshall, Daehli,Mutch and Noone stay.

This 5-3-2 would be cool I think, will never happen of course, but if I were manager I'd reach relegation with style using this. Only problem is fitting Noone in, but I'd force him to play WB.

Cala as sweeper behind Turner and Hudson.
Noone and Fabio wingbacks.
Eikrem as a deep playmaker, whittingham more forward.
+ A new strong midfield signing, a player with great work rate that doesn't shy from tackles.
Dæhli in the hole behind a striker with good technique and speed, maybe Guerra?

---------------- GK
--- Turner - Cala - Hudson
Fabio ----- Eikrem ------- Noone
--- New Signing - Whittingham
---------------------------------------
--------------- Dæhli --
-------------- Guerra

Bench: A goalkeeper, Brayford, John, Gunnarson, Mason, Berget, McNaughton.
