Ole tipped to lead Cardiff to Premier

Wed May 07, 2014 4:59 pm

Daily Mirror

Wednesday 7th May 2014.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been tipped to lead Cardiff back into the top flight.

That’s the verdict of Solskjaer’s ex-Manchester United team-mate Gary Neville after the Bluebirds were relegated on Saturday.

Neville, who played in the same United team between 1996-2007, reckons the Norwegian will bounce back and learn from the mistakes made during his four-month tenure in the Welsh capital.

Neville said: “It will be a huge disappointment for him.

"He wouldn’t have expected this because everything he has done – even when he went into the Molde job in Norway – he has experienced success. This is a big test for him.

“Managers when they start off their careers are going to have setbacks and this will be a huge learning curve for him. But he will respond next season.

“What he does have is the players who have experienced the Championship and that will give them an edge in terms of getting back into the Premier League.

“Cardiff will get back and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will improve and get better as a manager out of the experience that he has had at the moment, even though he looked devastated at the weekend.”

I back Ole. I never believed in miracles but when he got appointed it seemed most on this forum did. HE never turned our form into the better, but with 2 wins in 14 before he arrived it didn`t get worse either.

The fact is that Ole got appointed to improve the way we play, make us attractive to watch and win matches. Nothing happened because our squad was lacking the quality but at times we saw the formation work and i liked what i saw.

Give the man a pre season and 10-15 matches in the Championship to settle his team. Then we will see if we are on course to go up or down. 100% backing from me, cause im realistic about what he could achieve this season.

"Ole tipped to relegate Cardiff again to League 1" would be more accurate. Unless Ole drastically changes his ways, we will once again have rotational teams with no understanding or organisation on the pitch, plus a team without the fight, guts, spirit and team work required to grind out results on a cold Tuesday night at Brentford. I'm sorry, but that's the harsh reality of where we are at right now.

Saying that, Tan says Ole is a much better manager than Malky, so if Malky can win this league by 8 points, Ole should be able to win the league by 12 points.

Gary Neville speaks a lot of sense, and knows Ole very well. This puts him in a very good position to comment. Cheers Gary, I agree with you. :ole:

Will not happen, Cardiff will go down again after Tan walks with his money and everyone will be happy playing in blue again in League 1.

I have to agree with this although I hope I am wrong.
However, whilst he is manager here I will get behind him & the team.

I hope I'm wrong too and I will of course get behind Ole and the players. I just hope Ole changes his ways as we will struggle next season with his same sqaud rotation policy causing an unsettled team with no togetherness and understanding.

And you must be one of the twerps who argue that Cardiff are a "big club"

It will never happen with people with that mentality.
