Have now realized that. Our local away grounds to them is 1% so if you take those into consideration then we're a better supported team. We've had roughly 1,400 away following for the last 10 years.

Huddersfield 17miles
Burnley 35miles
Blackburn 48 miles
Bolton 50 miles
Wigan 54 miles
Barnsley 22 miles

You didn't sell your allocation the last time you played at the CCS. Not as big as what you think you are.

Leeds have sold out every away end since going down from the premier league I believe. They travel everywhere in numbers so please stop this nonsense about distance.

When we mock the Jacks for their pitiful away support we always mock them for using the distance excuse.

and are you seriously saying distance doesnt matter?......they played 14 league games this year that are closer to Eland road, than fishguard harbour is to the CCS.
playing only 1 real away game a month has to help surely

Plymouth's is the stand out one for me there.

Taking an average of 700 with the distances they have to travel and the shite they have had endured this last few years.

Pompeys as well, but they are on an upward curve after taking ownership of their club.

agree...Leeds support as good as it is ,is a different thing to Plymouths, where almost every single awayday is just that.....expense,time,hassle of family, sacrifice of other things..a lot of the Leeds away days, you get an early lunch at home and your home showered changed and taking the wife out by 8..

Re: AVERAGE AWAY ATTENDANCES IN THE WHOLE FOOTBALL LEAGUE

I know a few Leeds fans and they say they go 5 home games a season due to the cost and a lot of others do the same so travel away, they put all their money towards aways.

Great support nonetheless but when a lot of their fans don't even go over 5 home games then it's easy for them.

Living in Leeds, I would have to say it is far less travel time for me to watch aways, home games are 14 hour days sometimes. Travelling No's depend on how we feel as fans, if were happy we travel, if we're not our No's dwindle. We took more to Newcastle on a friday night in the championship than we did on 2 visits this season. :bluescarf:

Leeds to Newcastle by train is 1hr and 10 mins. Not surprising is it. Put Leeds in Plymouth then see what their average away attendance is like.
