Where do the fans go from here?

Wed May 07, 2014 12:20 pm

I am well known for my vocal hatred of what the club has become and I am not alone, just louder than some may be about it.

Putting all that aside, what can now be done to unite the club and the fans? Football is all about opinions but I am struggling to think of a club ripped apart like ours. I have not spoken to "friends" from down the City for two years because of our differing opinions.

Let's not turn this into a "it's only a colour" and "you're a sell out" thread I think we all seriously need to think what can be done to get our club back.

No offence, but you cant have been very good friends in the first place if you fell out over the rebrand. Me and my mates think different but after we've finished debating it we just have a drink and crack on with being friends.

People have different views and everyone should just accept that and let each other get on with it. No point in going over the same thing again and again in an attempt to get people to change their minds.

Fair point but there is passion on both sides, I am sure you and I could have had a pint pre rebrand ;) haha

If you haven't spoken to some of your friends because of something that happened at a football club then you were never friends in the first place.

I put the friends in inverted commas as they were more people I saw down the football for a p.iss up.

Tan's removal. He is what divided us by rebranding us. Only can we unite by removing the root cause of the problem. Its time overthrow the broken regime.

It's okay. No different to how I wouldn't associate myself with a BNP member. People sometimes don't wish to associate with those they strongly oppose the views, opinions and actions of. Each to their own.

Get Tan, the root cause of the division at our club, OUT!

You could still go down Canton for the pre match piss up and then watch the game in the Ninian or something.

Yeah I could but naturally we would debate football and then that would turn into a heated debate then argument.

For the first time in ages Simon I agree with Craig,I thought I had have fallen out with loads of so called friends over the rebrand and many I saw in a very different light and we have fallen out big time. I'm not going to going down the route of slagging them off all over again, but I realise they could not of been friends in the first place, as true friends dont turn like some of them did and some still have.

Then I agree with Simon they are just people I had spoken to a lot down the football, not friends at all.

Like many on this post I have supported the City for years and took great pleasure in rubbing the fact we we in the Premiership to Jacks and Cewnty mates. The question I was asked by a plastic scouser was this

" Are Cardiff City better off then they were before they were promoted?"

Apart from visiting Anfied, Old Trafford etc. I dont think the club is. Yes we have a great stadium, yes we have competed in the best league in the world but for what? To be the laughing stock of the footballing world!!! The sooner we get the soul (dont mean crew) back in our club the better!

Annis - You have supported the club since the the 70's have you ever know in such a state? :bluescarf: :ayatollah:

In all honesty in 43 years this has been the first time(the last 2 years) that I have not felt proud of our club, the stripping of our identity to me is the lowest Ive ever been. Thats how I feel and I do believe many others feel the same.

And there lies the problem Elyboy insults and not speaking to people won't solve the split in the club but only make it worse

OK, Dylanthomas, what are your suggestions to resolve the situation over the "red/Blue rebrand" ?

What are long serving and passionate bluebirds supporters (who want our club colours, badge back) supposed to do?

Although I have never met "Elyboy" he has made his stance and stuck by it - pity more of us do not have the courage of their convictions. :notworthy:

Indeed Simon where do we go from here.

We I'll return to blue one day. To me guys who have stayed away like yourself I will be pleased to see back. Guys who accepted it but left it at that I have no problem with. Guys who showed support for Tan but saw the side the side of the pro blues well I believe the return to blue will diminish our differences overnight. However those that enjoyed the division and belittle people well I hope they get hounded out of the club.
