' Cardiff City set to ring the changes for Chelsea clash '

Cardiff will be without Juan Cala for Sunday’s Premier League appointment with Chelsea after the defender was handed a three-match suspension.

The Spaniard was sent off in the Bluebirds’ 4-0 defeat at Sunderland last month for denying Connor Wickham a goalscoring opportunity, but this punishment related to his conduct as he left the field and made his way to the players’ tunnel.

With Cardiff relegated following last Saturday’s 3-0 defeat at Newcastle, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks set to make changes as the Welsh club target a winning send-off on home soil before returning to the Championship next term.

Provisional squad: Marshall, Lewis, Turner, Theophile-Catherine, Fabio, John, Caulker, Campbell, Daehli, Medel, Eikrem, Mutch, Kim, Jones, Bellamy, Zaha, Taylor, Whittingham, Gunnarsson, Cowie, McNaughton.

" CHELSEA "

Chelsea star Eden Hazard gunning for Cardiff City in what could be Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard and John Terry farewell.

With Chelsea now unable to win the Premier League and Cardiff City already relegated, this game is a definite ‘end of season’ fixture.

The only thing left to play for is where the two clubs can finish. Chelsea could do with a 2nd-place finish, while Cardiff would not like to end the season bottom of the league.

The Blues have lost Petr Cech, PFA team of the season goalkeeper, for the final game of the season with a shoulder injury but the rest of the squad is looking okay. Jose Mourinho will likely go with as strong a team as possible to go out on a high and to try and finish above Liverpool.

" STATS "

Cardiff City have not beaten Chelsea at home in the league since February 1963, drawing one and losing four since.

Samuel Eto’o scored his first Premier League goal in the reverse fixture at Stamford Bridge.

Eto’o is yet to score away from home in any competition for the Blues, with all 12 of his goals for Chelsea coming at Stamford Bridge.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has won just three of his 17 Premier League games in charge of Cardiff City, one fewer than predecessor Malky Mackay won in his 18 games as manager (4).

Little trouble: Oscar scored Chelsea's third goal in a 4-1 win over Cardiff at Stamford Bridge.

Cardiff City have failed to score in more games than any other Premier League side this season (19), while Chelsea have kept the most clean sheets (18).
Chelsea have won 79 points in 37 games this season and regardless of the result in this match, it’ll be Jose Mourinho’s lowest points tally while in charge of a full season at the Blues.
Chelsea have conceded a league-low 10 goals in the first half of matches this season.

Cardiff City have scored fewer first half goals than any other Premier League side in 2013-14 (9).

Frank Lampard has scored against 38 different clubs in the Premier League; a record that he shares with Andrew Cole. He is yet to score against Cardiff City in the competition, however.

Chelsea are unbeaten in their last 15 Premier League games to be played on a Sunday, winning 13 and drawing two.

3-3 I can still visualise the ball hitting Dave Tongs chest. It was never a pen.

Does anyone really believe there will be that much trouble?.

All the built up games recently have turned out to be quite civil. Not 1 arrest in the South Wales derby for example.

I would be pretty surprised if we didn't see some run outs of different players or a very different experimental side by OGS - much like the FA Cup games.

Might as well put on a good game - can't wait to watch it and many more next season

I certainly hope so! Backbone players have failed, give youth a chance and experience :bluescarf:

I hope that we play some youth today, change a few things up. I'd love to see Mason in the side today up top with Campbell. Joe Ralls would be good in midfield along side Tommy O'Sullivan. We have nothing to play for, so why not get our young players a tiny bit of Premier League experience? :bluescarf:

Whatever happens today, I'll be clapping my team for the small success they have managed in a difficult season.
For beating man city, for beating the jacks, for he hard work. For Olè who I believe did the best he could - despite being under qualified.

Wilf Zaha isn't included in this sentiment.

I genuine believe we'll be back next year, and the pressure building on tan may just see it in blue

And I thought we had trouble scoring. Chelsea should have 4 or 5 by now & if Caulker is hoping to get noticed he'll end up at a division 1 club on this display.
