Ukip cancels freepost address after social media campaign inundates party with ‘inappropriate’ mail

The UK Independence Party’s freepost address has been closed after a social media campaign saw the party sent a number of inappropriate items, including human faeces.

The closure was revealed by the Ukip Bexley Twitter account, which posted a message from the Post Office that said it would no longer be able to accept items sent to the address.

The political party, which is gearing up for the European elections, had already received several inappropriate items, including bricks and litres of water, after opponents launched a campaign by posting the address online.

Heavier items were selected in order that Ukip, which paid for the freepost service out of party funds, would need to foot an equally weighty bill.


‘You may be aware that there have been incidents of inappropriate mail items being sent to a Ukip Freepost address,’ the note on the UKIP Bexley Twitter account said.

‘This includes items which are prohibited (such as blood/human faeces) and present a health and safety risk both to you and our Royal Mail colleagues.

‘The Freepost address for UKIP has been cancelled.’

This is what our democarcy resorts to.

A new party is formed, it gathers supporters; the basic fundamentals of our entire system: the ability to create a political party if you don't agree with the ones available.

They are dismissed immediately with vague terms like 'racist' by people that don't understand what a democracy actually is. Getting on their high horses, playing the self-indulgent 'look how good my morals are' game, when they are doing no one any favours.

Over the top liberals have stunted our progress as a species.
