A honest answer

Mon May 05, 2014 5:10 am

In what was your only season in the prem u still struggled to get fans on seats (sold maybe but not used).
How do feel about the extension and the fact there will be less fans next season.
Or do u look at it as u would rather stats that your stadium is so big then come close to fill it.
Now for once I aint taking the piss but for years u have all had this mentality that u are a big club and only last year was talk on how u could get 60 k.
The fact that u lets face it struggled tp get the fans in the ground in your first season must have been a let down.
As a swans fan im annoyed at the caution our club have over extension as we have basically sustained our attendances now and would like the club to extend.
28 to 30 k is more then enough for us and although im sure we wont fill that every game we will against the big clubs and allso give a chance to give kids free and other promotions.

Your obsessive questioning has been answered ten fold. You choose to ignore the main reasons why most fans are disillusioned with our club ( rebrand being the main) and the fact that so many have stopped going to games this season and last ( though this season most have been replaced) it ain't rocket science, but you'll carry on believing what you want to believe , that we are a smaller club than you, that our fans are somehow dishonourable etc etc.

Mate you are one blinded bitter tosspot and it doesn't matter how you try to flower it up it always shines through

If you take a look at our attendances you will see nearly all are in the 27,800 bracket, when you take into account the away fans not selling out and segregation, all have been close to capacity, now like you said the seat was sold but not sat in,what can the club do if someone don't show, and in posts on here in some games 2-3000 didn't turn up,fact is the club needed to increase capacity because there were only a few hundred floating seats left, now we are relegated people are moaning about it being a waste of money

swansealad69 wrote:In what was your only season in the prem u still struggled to get fans on seats (sold maybe but not used).

No struggle. The majority of the games were sell outs and were attendances that you could only dream of. The only games that didn't sell out were when the away team returned tickets and a small amount of new tickets weren't advertised very well.

How do feel about the extension and the fact there will be less fans next season.

It allows more money through hospitality, but should have been done when we were stable in the premiership. Not really arsed either way though, again, an extension appears to be something you can only dream of.

Or do u look at it as u would rather stats that your stadium is so big then come close to fill it.

Now for once I aint taking the piss but for years u have all had this mentality that u are a big club and only last year was talk on how u could get 60 k.

Well that's ridiculous. There has been some ridiculous talk from your side in the past too. Every club has it's dreamers.

The fact that u lets face it struggled tp get the fans in the ground in your first season must have been a let down.

This isn't a fact at all. It's already been proved and explained to you so many times, but your bitterness cannot accept it.

As a swans fan im annoyed at the caution our club have over extension as we have basically sustained our attendances now and would like the club to extend.

You've struggled to sell a 20k stadium this season, so I can understand the caution. :D

28 to 30 k is more then enough for us and although im sure we wont fill that every game we will against the big clubs and allso give a chance to give kids free and other promotions.

Now u call me bitter yet asked a reasonable question.
I havr read posts on here this season saying yhere was less then 25k and why aint u filling the empty seats.
Yet u call me thick and bitter but as iv said iv asked a reasonable question and u biye and slag me off.
So I ask u who is the bitter party here.
I just basically asked would u rather a big stadium with thousands of empty seatd or a smallrr one thats full.
If u cry and bitch about that and call me bittrr then u truly are a sad bunch

yes, because your bitterness about attendances really comes through. You didn't ask a reasonable question. You asked a leading question filled with subtle bitterness.

I havr read posts on here this season saying yhere was less then 25k and why aint u filling the empty seats.

well they were talking nonsense then. Check the official attendance figures.

I've not called you thick at all in this thread. In fact, nobody has. stop making things up... Although that's all you've done in this thread. :laughing6:

no you haven't, you've posted a topic filled with subtle bitterness dressed up as a "reasonable" question. If that's all you wanted to ask, why didn't you just post that? We all know why. :laughing6:

If u cry and bitch about that and call me bittrr then u truly are a sad bunch

where has anyone cried or abused you? They've called you bitter, that's it? You come on here and try and wind Cardiff fans up & end up winding yourself up. I actually pity you. You've sat on here all weekend. :laughing6:

The premier league might be the highest division, but let's be honest it doesn't always have top class fixtures, stoke hull palace and now burnley ain't bums on seats fixture for all the clubs, and let's be honest swansea ain't a side that any club apart from cardiff look for once the fixtures are out,now before you say anything ,I now the championship is a step down but give me a fixture against say Leeds(who ll sell out allocation irrelevant of how important the game is)against any if the other sides I mentioned

This is a football board and the real reason u are ob here is for football.

London capital but for the last 40years yhe top clubs have been out side.
So before u come out with we are your capital ask your selfs do u think we care? As long as we are the sports capital or more to the point football capital

evidently lots of Swansea fans do care, seeing the likes of Mal Pope whinging on TV in a derby preview about how Cardiff get everything is evidence of that.

I think its a ridiculous decision and another reason why Tan should go.
Or do u look at it as u would rather stats that your stadium is so big then come close to fill it.

No Id rather a stadium like Ninian Park, a small capacity hell hole but full.
Now for once I aint taking the piss but for years u have all had this mentality that u are a big club and only last year was talk on how u could get 60 k.

We would if we were up the top competing in my opinion but breaking the bank and annoying fans in the process with stupid decisions like the rebrand is not going to help at all. The issue we have is before we progress, and dare I say it, to your level, we must first come to terms with the fact we must first take a good few steps back both off and on the pitch. If one of those steps is forcing Tan to sell and accepting the consequences then so be it.
The fact that u lets face it struggled tp get the fans in the ground in your first season must have been a let down.

No shock to me given the rebrand. I know loads of fans who were diehard yet once the rebrand happened would now and then say 'i cant be bothered today' and I cant judge them. To many its not the same club they fell in love with. We all have our reasons for our stances. Each to their own. Can I understand a pro red or Tan sympathisers viewpoint? No I cant to be honest but at the same time they're entitled to it just as much as I am entitled to mine in wanting him out.
As a swans fan im annoyed at the caution our club have over extension as we have basically sustained our attendances now and would like the club to extend.

I think its clever business management. Extending now and then you accidentally going down could be extremely dangerous. Unlikely you'll go down but all it takes is a bad run of games and you're fighting a battle you didn't think you'd be in. I think your club has handled the Laudrup affair very well. Credit where its due.
28 to 30 k is more then enough for us and although im sure we wont fill that every game we will against the big clubs and allso give a chance to give kids free and other promotions.

Agreed.

Swans and ospreys.
Both top of there game in wales.
Aint threatened or been abusive to anyone, and reaky no one cares about a name given to u.
At yhe end of the day wales outside of wales is insignificant so a name given to I to please politicians in Westminster means very little.
Add to that st davids is the true historical capital then I gess its a meaning less discussion.
And again I asked a legitimate question but u can only give abuse and slag me off.
But I wont run like a bitching girl to the mods barry but we all know on both side that u would.

It wasn't a wind up post in my opinion and therefore I answered the questions you put to us. I think thats a fair attitude. If you had tried to wind us up in your opening post by calling us shit or something you wouldn't have got a mature response.

Our min attendance: 26,167
Our max attendance: 28,018

That alone tells us there were games where hundreds if not thousands didn't turn up. Lets not lie. Lets go off stats.

Its no shock either cause of the rebrand. Tan forced people away. Some like ELY BOY and TLG went and made it vocally known that they went online. A lot of others just left without making it known. I know people who dont use the forums who've not been to see us since the rebrand. Tan pushed them away.

Re: A honest answer

It also suggests that the away end wasn't at full capacity, which was the case several times last season.

Whether or not swansealad is looking for a bite I'm going to actually answer this question honestly.

I think expanding the stadium this season was making the same mistake that Wolves made when they expanded their stadium. Wait until we're a more established Premier League team. We won't sell out this expanded stadium in the Championship. If you want an honest answer, that's the reality in my opinion.

The potential fan base for Cardiff is massive. The current one is a long way off the potential right now.

Hardly frigging surprising they troll most of the time is it when they can't win either way. What he said was actually fair and to be honest when I first read it I thought someone else had written it as there wasn't a provoking statement in sight.
