We all know statistics can and do distort the truth, but Malky was on target to get 36 points in 38 games. Which would obviously have been enough to keep you up, but when he was sacked, most would have assumed that more like 40 would be needed.
Where as Ole's performance would suggest 25 points from 38 games, definite relegation territory.
I know we have the benefit of hindsight, but Tan made a bad call, and if he did not own the club, he'd have been booted out.
Anyhow, look on the bright side, next season you'll be fighting for promotion not trying to avoid relegation. You'll see more games and more probably more wins. Does it matter to the real supporters which league you're in? The goal celebrations are still as intense and the wins just as satisfying. In some ways I envy those who are going to play in the Championship next season.

Malky won one more game than Ole, he is a much better manager, no doubt !!!

36 points wouldnt keep us up so makes that argument redundant
Sunderland have 35 points and 2 x home games left
Agree with the last paragraph

As has been said done to death...
Tan is at fault, Malky with this squad may have grafted 5 more points. The squad was assembled to play in a certain way.
I never liked the way we played, but trying to change the way we played mid season was foolhardy.
Pulis or Alladyce would have definitely improved us but we have very naive senior management and owner who coupled with the rookies Moody,Malky & Ole totally cocked it up...
On the plus side if we are close next season, we won't choke as the getting there was definitely better than the destination....
