You honestly dont know much about Cardiff City and our fans.
In the 80's and 90's when Cardiff played away and City fans who could not afford away games, they would pop along and support Merthyr or Barry Town. In them days merthyr would get crowds of up to 4,500 and Barry about a 1,000 but for Cup games Barry would get 6,000, mostly City fans at both clubs matches.
During the Years City and Merthyr have had a a good bounding and nearly al the areas around Merthyr and Merthyr itself support Cardiff.
Where as in the 80's Newport and Cardiff detested each other.
When City got relegated yesterday Newport fans cheered and sang about us. I even had pm's of Newport laughing at us, where as Merthyr fans have are totally the opposite.
No one is forcing u to ever support and cheer on a local non league side, I love it and Premiership football and Championship football is not everything. If merthyr get promoted tomorrow I will celebrate with them.![]()
Cardiff City are my team, but there is nothing wrong in cheering on local non league sides
I've only had a season ticket for 12 years , the team most local to me is the jacks so all I get is shit so I don't really support my local team.i saw sense
