The squad is good we just need a style of play to match it !
This squad should win the championship , even if we lose some of the expensive players like medel , jones and caulker we are still very strong for that level .
With the addition of Javi Guerra ( if he comes now ) we look good on paper . A good summer working on the style of play and getting his ideas across and we will be fine .
I wouldn't mind seeing this line up first game next season

I disagree there is not much wrong with the squad of players at championship level it is very good , a fact that was proved last year when we won it . But at premier league level you need that quality striker to stay up which we don't have .
The problem this year was all the chopping and changing of managers , systems , and styles . Once settled this will be a very good team next year .

Turner instead of Hudson, Brayford wants to leave otherwise I agree with your team, bring in a LB and move Fabio to RB. Interested to see how Eikrem can do in the Championship, he could be the surprise of the campaign.

That is a very good championship team and one which will easily be towards the top of the table

I find it funny that you say we don't need to sign anyone, then include a summer signing in guerra.

Well technically that was supposed to have been agreed in January .
So if he is a cardiff city player on paper but not available to play until next why not include him ?
That is exactly why we don't need to sign anybody , he maybe Is the striker we needed ?

Nope. He's not a Cardiff City player.

I doubt he will be next season either.

He signed a pre contract agreement there is a very good chance he will be a cardiff city player next season .
Even the owner of Valladolid has publicly said he is coming here .
The only thing that could stop that is if there is a relegation clause or he/another club buys out the agreement .

Many will leave no matter what, so we will need to sign players this Summer.
Sun May 04, 2014 11:45 am
I think it might surprise people who stays this summer and who leaves.

I think we will lose medel , jones , Bellamy , and maybe caulker .
That's it ! I doubt ole will gamble by ripping this squad apart it just needs tweaking .
Our players will show more loyalty than people think and give it another go

Its not entirely up to Ole who stays and who goes.

It's alwayw amazing just how many players relegated sides lose. Even players that alwere clearly shit in the prem get snapped up for some reason.
Either way even if everyone stays we need a couple of players to rebalance the squad, some of the squad players like Cowie and Smith are out of contract too and I expect them to leave.

What a soft centre that team has. Like a jammy dodger!!! ยก!

I'm sorry we do. We need to rid our squad of the useless players on show and build a team worthy of going back-up. There is actually no point of going up if we go up with the same players. We need a brand new team.
Not to mention some of these players went against Ole and didn't listen to his instructions etc. So I'll be glad to see them go too

We don't need to sign a new manager as we'll either go for a manager in work and have to pay compensation or have to appoint a new bloke which will make us have to sack Ole and the whole of his coaching staff then pay wages for the new blokes guys.
Give him till Christmas and see what happens, if we aren't top half of the table then I'll question the appointment

Love the positivity, but there is not a tackle in that team... We needs lots of movement this summer, more out than in though.
Daehli,Mutch,Kimbo, Berget, Mason all want to play in the hole behind the striker.
Whitts, Eikrem and Ralls can all pass, shoot and to a degree tackle but its not their strength.
Gunnar and Kiss can tackle but look dodgy in possession, Cowie can pass and run all day.
Beller hopefully retires, Caulker, Marshall and Medel will be gone, I doubt the Spanish 32 year old striker fancies the championship. I can't see Nugent being an ole player
If Kadeem Harris is not ready for the championship, he never will be (looked better than Nooney in the U21 games I saw)
Stuck with Jones, which may mess everything up.
................Lewis
Kev Cala Hudson Fabio
Eikrem Whitts Daehli
Maynard Campbell Noone
Not that good is it
Sun May 04, 2014 1:52 pm
That team isn't strong enough in the centre of midfield.
I'd like us to play with three at the back to give us extra cover in midfield, negate the defensive deficiencies of our full backs and retain 2 upfront with players breaking from deeper. Noone or Mutch could play in the hole with licence to move left or right in order to assist the wing backs.
Sun May 04, 2014 1:58 pm
The likelihood that Marshall, Caulker, Cala, Medel, Mutch, and Campbell will be sold in the summer seems to have escaped some.

Until our coaches can get the basics right such as not leaving opposition forwards in yards of space game after game, then we can forget any sort of challenge. Peronally I think we have the basis of a squad but we have to get them a lot more organised defensively, working together a unit. What happened to pressing the opposition? Pulis has proved it's possible to organise an average bunch of players. Perhaps Ole needs to employ a specialist defensive coach.
Defensive organisation, pace and power and two bloody good goal scorers and we'll be ok
Sun May 04, 2014 2:57 pm
We will sign at least 4 or 5 players. A player in every department at least. I think we will do well next year.
Sun May 04, 2014 3:05 pm
It really is a difficult one.
A mass overhaul of players leaving and coming in can mean in the "new" squad taking time to gel and the management not knowing his best XI (like he still doesn't now!)
If that happens then the people who say give Ole until Xmas may as well be on the get rid now bandwagon as there is a distinct possibility that we'll be bottom half of the Championship with mixed results while Ole tries to get it right.
Then he goes at Xmas due to inconsistent results and a position in the table which in many people's eyes (especially the boardroom). A new manager comes in with new ideas, will want his own backroom staff, his own shopping list of players....and we are back to the same situation we had this January just in a different league.
There's an argument that the bulk of the squad that got us up last year will be there again in August so why can't they do it again?
Then there's the other argument that the squad has gone backward in the last 12 months and that fresh blood is required.
In response to a previous thread about how much of football is luck - we will need a lot of luck to hit the ground running in August. It's not impossible, but there's a lot of hard work and a long summer ahead.

Where is the defensive midfielder? That team would be ripped to shreds in the middle.
