The four reasons why Cardiff City have been relegated

Now with relegation confirmed, I’m having to deal with the dream becoming a nightmare. There are so many reasons why this season hasn’t gone right, lets take a look at some.

1. The sacking of Malky MacKay

The number one reason why this season has been a nightmare was the sacking of MacKay. It has been well documented what happened so I’m not going to repeat myself. However, MacKay got the club to the Premier Leagueand he was doing a damn fine job of keeping us there. By the time that he got the official sack, we had amassed 18 points. As I write this after the Newcastle game, we have only got 30, says it all really.

Malky could get the best out of average player and showcase the brilliance of the special players. See how Steven Caulker, Gary Medal and Craig Noone played in this first half the season in comparison to the second half.

Malky should not have been sacked, and this is the number one reason that we are back in the Championship.

2. Vincent Tan

Aside from the fact that he sacked the greatest manager the club have ever had, he caused division amongst the fans, he couldn’t care less what his customer base thought and turned the club into a media laughing stock.

He is not a fit and proper person to run a football club. So 90 per cent of the people think red is the way forward? Look out at the crowd. You think Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a better manager than Malky? You think David Marshall is a disgrace for not scoring a goal despite how many games he’s played?

3. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

A genuinely lovely man, but the wrong man at the wrong time. We needed someone who was going to get results with a clear plan, not someone who was trying out a few different things. He would have been great at a West Brom or a Villa, but at Cardiff City, with all the turmoil off the pitch we needed someone who give the players a kick up the backside. He didn’t give them that kick.

February was the month where it was a strong possibility we would have picked up 12 points, instead we picked up four and got embarrassed against Swansea and Hull. Malky would have got us at least 10 points.

4. Decisions on the pitch

First time, I’ve mentioned on the pitch issues, strange that isn’t it? Decision not to give us a penalty in the last minute against Everton when we were 1-1 and Juan Cala sending off spring to mind instantly. But there have been many poor decisions over the season that haven’t gone our way. Wayne Rooney not being sent off for hacking Mutch off the ball. Caulker being rugby tackled twice in the box against Liverpool.

They say things even themselves out over the season, but we have not had any luck at all.

Despite all this, you haven’t seen the last of Cardiff City, mark my words!

REASON1..............the squad was not anywhere near good enough..........
REASON2..............the manager failed to realise the squad was nowhere near good enough.

all the Malky defenders please correct this statement and tell me gunner and kim are really as good as lampard and gerrard just tan upset them.......or that taylor is a prem left back.......or we had a prolific goal scorer thats been ill all year.........

the squad built last year was to win promotion, without any thought as to how we would cope if we get promotion....a carnival of a summer window followed..........

Fuk off Tan

What a load of bullshit.

Noone hardly played under Malky. Reason why we had lots of average players was Malky over spending on average players.

There is a lot more bollocks but that's just from the first couple of sentences.

Change of Manager at a key time

New Manager took to long to find his best team and tried to change to many things at once

No Premiership Strikers

Poor unorganised defence making far too many errors

Plus another twenty or so reasons, but it is what it us time to move on :bluescarf: :ayatollah:

Onwards and Upwards :bluescarf: :ayatollah:

NUMBER 3 IS RIGHT OUT OF FANTASY ISLAND............Malky would have got 10pts from 4 games.....not only is that the form of the top teams, but in his previous two februarys at our club in the CHAMPIONSHIP......thats how many points we got 10..but over 2 years..........at watford he got 11 points from 11 games in his 2 years...........but all of a sudden he becomes a cross between Shanks,Clough and Fergie for a month...............really..get a grip

We were not very good.

I don't know could argue yes our squad isn't great, but its just as good as palace's,fulham's,sunderlands, norwich's!just need the right manager to get the most out of the player's!it wasn't always pretty under Malky but I believe he would of kept us up!we had that team sprit, togetherness the season was ruined as soon as all the moody circus started which was the beginning of the end for us and malky!

Malky hardly played Nooney which was one of his big mistakes.

"The squad was not anywhere near good enough"
Who could possibly argue with this assessment as to why Cardiff City was relegated?
Just seven wins from 37 games(with Chelsea to come) is an abysmal record, in fact it's the worst in any of the divisions.
Yes, the Premiership is a lot tougher to compete in compared to the Championship, but you only have to look at the way Crystal Palace were transformed after Tony Pulis took over. There were no new signings for Palace,it was the same squad of players who languished for so long at the foot of the table. Clearly Pulis instilled belief, commitment and grit into his players and the result is there for all to see. Frankly, there needs to be a clearing out of a lot of dead wood amongst the players, because the present squad are a long way short of being able to compete at the highest level.

We went down because the last two managers spend loads of money on poor players.

Jones didn't and Ole certainly didn't. What he spent in January could be recovered selling Daehli.

As much as I believe that sacking Malky was the biggest mistake we made this season, he still needs to take some of the blame.
