Cardiff City boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be hoping to replicate his first day in the job on Saturday, beating Newcastle United 2-1 at St James' Park.

Cardiff came back from 1-0 down to defeat Newcastle 2-1 in an FA Cup third round tie in January in what was Solskjaer's first game in charge of the Bluebirds since succeeding Malky Mackay.

The Welsh side hopes it would be a sign of things to come under the former Manchester United striker, however, they now find themselves bottom of the Premier League table with the very real prospect of being relegated on Saturday should results go against them.

Should Sunderland beat Man United at Old Trafford and Cardiff fail to win at Newcastle then the Bluebirds' one-year stay in the Premier League will come to an end.

However, Cardiff can take confidence from Newcastle's poor form, having lost each of their last six games and winning just three times in their last 14, although the Bluebirds themselves are searching for a first win in seven games.
