'DEBT'

Thu May 01, 2014 9:14 pm

All this talk of debt is nonsense when you consider the likes of MAN UTD, CHELSEA, LIVERPOOL,NEWCASTLE,TOTTENHAM,ARSENAL. Their combined debt is a staggering £3.6bn even if you scew WEST SPAMS in with them lot, their debt is a colossal £2.8bn

Even Clubs in the top half of the Championship have debts greater than ours -Birmingham has 1.3 times what ours is!! Now it them who are struggling. So, the debt isn't such a worry. What worries me more is the squad to compete at the high end and, a Manager to keep a Squad capable of staying there :bluescarf:

Agree that there are many clubs worse off. Take Bolton for example, 190 mil in debt, still I would like to see our debt minimised atleast.

Re: 'DEBT'

the club is pretty much owned by Tan.....and all our debt is to Tan.........he can convert debt to equity, write off chunks or all the debt....charge or not charge interest........or could finish the club off.........we will only really know how bad or good things are if he moves on........

And I could pay for your house too... But i wouldnt. And neither will tan just gift millions for no reason.

Man United are 350m in debt, but thats only 100% of one seasons income. Its all relative.

Id rather be 350m in debt with 350m annual income than 100m in debt with 35m annual income.

Regardless of whether it's the same as annual turnover or 10 times annual income, in the best interests of Cardiff City Mr Tan needs to service his "promise" - until then our club is in very shaky waters!!!!

Why does he have the interests of Cardiff City ahead of his own?

Fan is he?

Thats because we owed a small amount and the people we owed money to had it in their interests financially to accept a smaller payment. That scenario is not similar with you as your existance costs tan even more as it is down to him to cover your shortfall.

Re: 'DEBT'

It's really not as simple as that. You're forgetting to factor in assets which include the players too and the facilities. Then you have sponsorship deals which they have agreed over a fixed period of years as well as deals with the banks and so on with interest repayments. They have a secure source of income from funding because of the massive market they've tapped into.

We've got bugger all in comparison. We're far less secure than they are even with a smaller debt.

You are a twisted prick Mr Tragic

Try telling Dean Holdsworth that Aldershot no longer exist or Aly McCoist that rangers are no longer playing.
Aldershot lost to Hereford last week you f*cking mug.

I think you would in fact be hard pushed to find companies saying a bad word to be honest.

What would you rather?

£5 out of £100 I owe you, but that ensures you have high paid work with me forever with ling terms contracts set up and free use of all club facilities and free sponsorship up to the value of what was owed.

Or £5 and we cease to exist and thus your business also is in strife as your main earner can no longer continue to hire you.

Dont talk wet :laughing6:

Put them in front of me and I shall tell them exactly that.

If you arent worried about being called FC Cardiff and starting in the Ryman league with all history erased then be my guest

In fact would you even be allowed in the English system being a new Welsh grassroots club?

True..... but when we look back at Swansea on lets say football focus we still hear about John Toshack Alan Curtis etc.
You would have to be a complete anorak to deny and separate all that history, the media and most fans don't give a f**k.
We just accept it and get on with it.

Not at all.

You type in FC Cardiff and every news archive across the internet and any other source will say "established in 2014" and "no trophies won"... And "competes in the Welsh leagues". It will be a completely different club.
