Solskjaer has received backing from the Cardiff City boardroom, despite his Bluebirds team sinking to the brink of relegation from the Premier League.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has received the backing of Cardiff City chairman Mehmet Dalman, " we are, of course, also looking to the future.”
The Norwegian takes his side to Newcastle tomorrow, knowing only victory at St James’ Park in their penultimate game will give them any chance of beating the drop.
Even then Cardiff will be relying on others to do them favours and they face a daunting home clash with title hopefuls Chelsea on the final weekend.
A poll on the Western Mail’s website WalesOnline this week revealed the vast majority of Bluebirds fans do not blame Solskjaer for the club’s plight, despite the confused nature of the former Manchester United striker’s selections and tactics since he took over from sacked Malky Mackay at the turn of the year.
Cardiff City face club in turmoil both on and off the pitch.
And it appears the Cardiff hierarchy concur, with chairman Mehmet Dalman saying: “Ole has my full support.
“Right at the moment our focus is on doing everything possible to keep our place in the Premier League.
“But we are, of course, also looking to the future.”
Cardiff have lost 11 of 19 matches Solskjaer has taken charge of since his appointment in January, their most recent setback being a horror 4-0 defeat at Sunderland last Sunday.
They currently lie rock bottom of the Premier League table two points adrift of Norwich and Sunderland who are third and fourth from bottom respectively.
