Premier league boys making your team field a XI on Sat?

Welsh CCC have told teams to default on their 2nd XI & Alliance games but won't let us cancel our 1st XI game! 10 of our 1st XI are in Wembley and a few 2nd XI! We even offered to play our game Sunday but the league declined it and the team we're due to play reckon they can't get a team out on the Sun!

Bit pathetic the stance they're taking on this with the city in the play off final! They did the same for the Fa Cup games! It's ok for teams like Whitchurch and Sully as they can chuck 4 teams out per Sat - We have 30 players max!

Welsh sport should be backing it, Can't see many games this weekend!

i raised this point to a few people at glamorgan today mate.
as you know i play for newport, and saturday we are playing cardiff, im at wembley but am the only player from newport going. (the rest want us to lose
but cardiff have most of there team going to wembley, so obvs where happy to play them because we should win, but alot of teams are struggling to field teams, but first 11 cricket, and the cash that is floating about, teams are expected to fulfill the fixture. also our league goes as far as swansea, llanelli etc, and they dont care about saturday
but i see your point, for smaller clubs with lesser players like you eluded to, it is unfair and something should be done  (but never is) went through exactly the same thing with FA cup final

The e-mail sent to all clubs was

"Following enquiry from various clubs, asking as Cardiff City have reached the play-off final on May 22nd, will we repeat what we did 2 years ago (when Cardiff got to the FA Cup final) in allowing 2nd X1s and Alliance teams to default fixtures without penalty?

The committee discussed this and decided that clubs should play a normal round of fixtures on May 22nd. While this stance does run a risk of some sides defaulting, the committee view was that the majority want to play cricket. If you need to understand what the rules on defaults are, Match Reg. 9 has all the info.

Out of courtesy to the opposition, if you know that your side is going to default, please inform your opposition as soon as possible, to enable them the opportunity to find a friendly fixture"

We've got to put a 1st XI out which consists of 2nd XI players and Sunday players which won't be too great for us but at least it stops us getting a fine or points docked!
