The Norwegian has endured a tough start to life in Wales, but is not expected to be under threat even if the Bluebirds lose their battle for survival

The Norwegian's Cardiff future is not in doubt

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s job will not be under threat if Cardiff lose their Premier League status.

The Bluebirds ’ hopes of avoiding the drop suffered a heavy blow in their 4-0 defeat at Sunderland on Sunday.

The Norwegian has taken just 12 points from 16 games at the helm, while questions have been raised over his January signings and constant tinkering with the starting line-up.

But a club source said: “There is no question the club want Ole to continue as manager next season, whatever the outcome of this relegation battle.

“He has had little time to make his mark having been brought in with the club in a mess.

“He deserves the chance to develop his long-term plans.”

There needs to be a marked improvement next season.

Yeah, I am torn about this. Even in the difficult situation he's been put in some of his decisions have been very disconcerting. However, a portion of a January transfer window and half a season isn't exactly enough time to allow someone to prove themselves.

Even though I don't think he's done too well so far, I am willing to back him until he is not our manager any more.

We stuck with Dave Jones for years and it was a credit to the club would be nice to continue in this notion. At least until OGS spends £9mil on a striker not ready for the league and say there were no other strikers in the entire world he could have got.

I'm sorry, he came to the club and it was in a mess!? No no no, we were outside the relegation zone, with a plan in place to survive.

The mess was Tan emailing Malky ultimatums, Tan booing the team on camera, Tan publicly sacking Moody ect ect

We weren't the best team, but we were sticking to our goals of staying up and planning for progression.
The mess was the media storm our owner kept getting involved in.

I didn't want Malky gone, and my opinion is that he would have kept us up. BUT he is gone, and although I think he has under performed as a manager, I give my full backing to OGS. And I would like to see some continuity and stability from the club now. Stick with Ole and let him develop with us.

Also... More chance of keeping Daehli if OGS stays!!! ;)

I personally would stick with OGS.

I do have reservations but those reservations maybe a little unfair given the turmoil in which he joined our club.

Possibly, by his own admission, he has a lot to learn when it comes to being a Premiership quality manager. However, I am sure that he could do well in the Championship - and go on to bigger and better things when we return to the Premiership the following year :thumbright:

If, through some miracle, we do stay in the Premiership this year then he will have earned his position by keeping us up.

I think this year has taught a lot of people, both within the club and outside of it, that being a Premiership Club is more than just having a squad of 25 players. Its about having "Class" across every aspect of the club

It should be!

City 0-2 WHU
City 0-4 Hull
Swansea 3-0 City
City 0-3 Crystal P
Sunderland 4-0 City

Five signings nowhere near the required PL standard.
Tactical naivity.

Already 5 out of his 7 signings are not of the required standard - even for the Championship.

He needs way more time than what he has had. Keep the faith :ole:

I'll even claim the signing of Berget was better than any Malky did this summer ( except maybe Caulker)

The best thing for OGS is probebly to get away from this circus of a footballclub. If he get sacked it will be a good thing for him, as the trouble with the owner, devided fans, protests etc. will without doubt continue next year.
He is too loyal to leave himself though.

Get Mike Phelan and Rene Meulensteen, appointed to the back room staff ,

Then I would be more confident about the future with Ole in charge

They have a wealth of premiership experience at the very top level , which is obviously lacking in our club ,

After the shambles of this season , and some alarming results under Solskar and the present back room staff

Its absolutely vital that Ole gets good advice to take the club forward or I fear for the future
