In praise of Mr G Gypes

Tue May 18, 2010 8:37 pm

Just thinking as we prepare for our biggest game in recent times the galvanising effect of that magnificent rugby tackle by our Hungarian centre half in the Leicester home league match.

Not only did it create the best atmosphere at the stadium up to that time but the backs to the wall performance by the nine men really confirmed to our team and supporters that we had the character and ability to get to where we are now.

For me it was one of the defining moments of what has been a memorable season with hopefully one more fantastic memory to come.

Thanks Gabor - a true unsung hero!

That moment is one of those that will be remembered for years to come by all that witnessed his effort for the team!

Because of that fantastic tackle and then injury he hasn't been able to get back in the side. Gabor you are still a hero and you are still one of the best defenders in the Championship. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

A defining moment for sure, and no other option than to bring the guy down! But a fantastic tackle it wasnt!!!
although, a turning point for the team and the fans! :ayatollah:

Couldn't agree more!!!
Gabor's tackle was completely cynical but supremely professional, he took one for the team.

Every single one of our tiny squad will be a hero on Saturday, they've been superb!

Whoa Nelly!

"Professional"... "took one for the team"....

Errm, garbage.

We'd injuries in defence anyway - the reason Gyepes was playing. Ended the game with Paul Quinn at center back, due to Gyepes going... christ, Whittingham at left back.

Pretty obvious we were going to come under pressure, but seriously, don't act as if Gyepes knew full well we'd hang on in the circumstances... he was easily turned, falling, thought he'd bring the guy down. Nothing else...

Any other day, we could easily have lost that game... anybody claiming Gyepes did the right thing, putting us down to ten men vs a pretty good side is clearly barking...

BE POSITIVE!

He certainly knew he was off and because it was outside the box no penalty.... If the guy got through it was a goal - and we would have been down and out. At least it provided us with a fighting chance - But dont fret guys! the past is the past and "we're the famous cardiff city, and we're going to Wembley!!!"
