We need to go back to league 2

Mon Apr 28, 2014 10:59 pm

I've said it before and i'll say it again : Our credibility as a club and as supporters is well and truly gone. The only way we'll get it back is when tan fucks off, leaves us in the shit and we bail the club out financially (similar to pompey). If anyone else has any ideas on how to put this shame and embaressment behind us, then lets hear it.

ye would love crowds of 4000 in a 3300 seater stadium

Well if tan jumps ship when we get relegated who's to say league 2 might not be an inevitability?

Yeah, dropping down a few leagues will sort all our problems out. Think we should drop down to the conference just to make sure.

Well you know what he means. And he is right of course.

1) you need to rid yourselves of this debt, the only way you can is getting Tan out so he sells your assets to pay it (himself) off. This debt to equity is a pipe dream.

2) you need to change the mentality of the fans and people who run the club and stop this "success at all costs, boom or bust" and even when the boom comes it is swiftly followed by the bust. You need to have suatainable success not flash in the pan gambles.

3) you need to live within your means. If you are earning £16m as a club then there is no way on earth you should be spending more than that. £16m was your income last year and you were spending £30m on wages alone - that is suicide.

4) you need to build slowly. Accept that NOT being able to go out and splash £40m in loans on players is a good thing, you need to earn that money otherwise it gets frittered away and you still owe it. Fans need to accept that building slowly is a long process indeed and a lot of hard work and correct decision making is involved.

5) EVERYONE must recognise the above points in order to move on as a club and fanbase. There is a reason you are £100m in debt, there is a reason you now play in red, there is a reason the pride has gone, there is a reason you now have a dragon badge.... The reason is too many peoole disregarded points 1-4 because they craved Prem football.

If we go down multiple divisions the debt increases, not decreases

I think we can regroup in the Championship. Tan will not want to be here for a few seasons more of Championship football, he's either going to throw the book at promotion or going to shut up shop and expect Ole or our new manager to get promoted on a limited budget. Our fans are a strange bunch

I agree with that.

However if lessons arent learned, when this debt does eventually go - it will soon be back and you will be back to square 1. What is the point in success if you cannot maintain it.

So you wouldnt rather have the opportunity to build an actual club with solid foundations? Any success is likely to be permanent then.

At the moment under your current boom or bust mortgaging the club way of doing things just seems like wasting time where you coukd be building something. You can never sustain success operating how you are.

Id take league 2 any day over the championship not knowing what is going on, playing in a foreign colour and badge up to our necks in debt knowing that if one man decides he can bury the club beyond trace.

Sometimes I worry about these people who say lets go back to league 2. Ffs those days were shit.

if u feel so strongly I wonder why people dont just fuk off and leave those that want to follow the club to it. People spowt so much shit on here at times I worry.....

if I kicked off in work at change they would say theres the door, its ur choice. Same here for me, dont like it just walk away

Its common sense isnt it?

If Tan sells all your assets to pay himself off and thus wants out then I may indeed make an offer. Although I doubt he would sell for what id be oreoared to pay.

Now wouldnt that be fun :D

Thats like saying Germans are all nazis because of world war 2.

Over a decade ago now and lessons have been learned from previous regimes. We have instilled a policy and an ethos and have lived within our means ever since while flying up the leagues within budget and within structure.... And now it allows for sustainable success.

Well the ones who were national socialists are Nazi's just as Swansea don,t pay their bills, considering the amount they owed they could have easily paid back the St Johns ambulance which is a Charity

No we couldn't, its illegal.

We did however pay them back in terms of using our facilities and conference rooms for nothing and also contracts that have remained working with us for the last 12 years.

ps whatever amount you come up with it is no where near 100 mil? :old: if you believe some we are in debt upto 130million aswell so i am being conservative :laughing6:

Re: We need to go back to league 2

His shares for a start. A debt free championship club with a stadium expansion just done and a guaranteed £30m in parachute money left to come in would be worth £30 - 40m easy just on the basis of the future payments alone.

season ticket money he can keep as well as sponsorship money for the new season.

as for players, you will get £20m for just Caulker, Medel and Marshall. If you really did want to sell the likes of Mutch, Daeli, Whittingham, Kim then you would quite easily reach £30m in player sales.

£30m-£40m for the club. £30m for the players. £20m parachute payments. £10m ticket money and sponsorships

= £90m - £100m

He also has the land for the training ground which i havent accounted for.
