Signings for the championship

Mon Apr 28, 2014 8:12 pm

The upcoming transfer window is vital for us, We should make about 25-30 million from selling players on top of parachute money. Whoever our manager is they need to spend this money wisely and not waste it like in recent windows.
A list of people I'd like to see us possibly sign :

Jordan Rhodes
Gary Mackay-Steven
Jonathan Walters
Lewis Grabban
Greg Halford
Nathan Redmond
Jesse Lingard (loan)
Jamaal Lascelles
Troy Deeney

I also think players returning from their loans like Ralls, Maynard, Mason and Brayford could all be handy next season

What makes you think players will want to come to this circus.Only money will tempt them and we need to get out of that cycle.

guess it depends.

IF we sell Mutch, Marshall, Kim, Caulker, Medel and Noone, then we might have 25/30m, i imagine we might well get half of that to spend.

Jonathan Walters is a great shout should he be available. I would add Tom Lawrence (out of contract) to that list who can play wide left as well as up top.

I think the players that we'll retain will make up a really strong squad at Championship level. I would like to see players like Eikrem and Berget given a chance. I think Lewis is good enough to step up should we lose Marshy (Don't forget he has an England cap to his name).

Wingers might be the priority next year. But I don't think we'll need to be as busy recruiting players as with past seasons.

I heard somewhere that Brum have around 20 players out of contract in the summer. I'm sure there will be lots of good freebies around. No need to spend.

I can see Tan coming out and saying there is absolutely no money to spend.

I hope he does actually.

Or maybe allow a few pounds for a young striker but apart from that I hope we cut our cloth before we even enter the market.

Free transfers and loans only I'm afraid.

Time to pay the piper.
