A forum for all things Cardiff City

Having witnessed all too many gutless inept performances this year my real fear is survival in the championship.I firmly believe unless there is a real clear out of the squad CCFC will struggle badly. We all know how brutal the second tier is, it is unforgiving currently Cardiff do NOT possess the stamina or guts to compete. In all my life I have never seen a team so incapable of going forward, making decisive inroads into defences. We have acquired a bunch of at best mediocre 2nd division players with two or three exceptions.Caulker and Marshall will go for big money, Medel -probably. I believe Daehli, who is quality, will also be snapped up.Where does this leave us? Kenwynne Jones is possibly the worst stiker I have ever seen in my 53 years on this planet, we do not have full backs, we do not possess a single playmaker if we lose Daehli...so where from here?I have read with interest some posts flagging up the qualities of players who are pub players, I assume a lot of people who make such comments never ever put a shirt on in their lives. To put it bluntly we are in deep shit.

Hopefully Solksjaer doesn't sell Kadeem Harris and Ralls. They would be good next year.

I'm sure we'll have a squad more than capable of challenging for promotion back to the premier league.

I'm not expecting too much next season, don't think we'll be anywhere near the playoff places, let alone automatic promotion!
Mon Apr 28, 2014 11:46 am
absolutely no reason why we shouldnt be in and around the top 6.
Go get Troy Deeney and get rid of about 10 players
Mon Apr 28, 2014 11:50 am
...........Marshall
KTC....Cala....Turner....John
.........Gunnar....Whitts.......
Noone.......................Daehli
........Guerra....Campbell
Can't see us keeping Mutch, Leicester or Palace will be in for him I reckon.
Wouldn't mind seeing that same formation with Kim instead of Gunnar or Daehli as well

To be honest, a mid-table finish in the Championship next season would be good. We just need some stability after the farcical season that is, thankfully, drawing to a close.

Surely we should sell them as they are both on 90k a week.

to me that team looks rather weak, especially in the middle of the park.
Id go with the back 5 (but f**k it, lets keep Caulker

) Noone and Daelhi on the wings, kim will be ok in the championship too. Campbell need a strike partner (deeney) and we need a new DM

That's more than enough to put us in top six next season. I expect to see the back of some deadwood along with a Caulker, Medel and Marshall getting snapped up. As far as Daehli is concerned he will stay with Ole. Can't really understand the negativity for next season. I personally think we will be challenging for automatic promotion.

a bit dramatic
There's no reason why
A. We won't stay up
B. Get promoted straight away

the side for next year would more than likely be this
Lewis
Fabio
Hudson
Cala
John
Whitts
Eikrem
Gunnarsson
Noone
Campbell
Guerra
Marshall, Medel, Caulker, Daehli and Mutch i can see leaving

It's an opinion. If you don't agree, then just say so.

No reason at all, but we all know how difficult the Championship can be.
