A forum for all things Cardiff City

If I didnt know any better and you handed me a piece of paper with our squad of players on it, and I had to decide a formation i would probably set it up 4-5-1 as Ole does, but I think its fair to say that despite the fact it looks the best option on paper, we keep taking a fecking drubbing in any game were we think we have a slim hope of success. This 4-5-1 formation has got to go for the next 2 games, feck it we are screwed anyway so lets just try to be a bit less predictable for the next 2 games, try something different.
I dont really know what alternative system we could use, but then again im not earning a fortune playing or coaching a football team. What do you you think we could try?
Make some changes Ole, whats the worst that could happen.

We go with same team three weeks in row which is what fans crave of, no tinkering but we need to for this game, Newcastle is winnable when you see how they've performed. It's all about saving face now

TBH, we dealt with the pressure well today, even when we were caught out with a set piece. I think your always gonna have a nightmare of a game when a CB like JC gets sent off, I think the performance would have been decent had this event not occurred.
4-4-3
Sun Apr 27, 2014 2:59 pm
Drop ktc & Medel..

To be honest we were playing fine before their 1st goal although we didn't really create anything. Once they scored they had all the momentum and Cala's red card killed us off

12 players would be useful

"Lets try something different against the Toon"
Like winning maybe?

Doesn't matter about formations etc.
We are not good enough. End of.

After today's debacle I'd drop Mutch.
No passion at all today. Whittingham again refused to play the ball forwards. Sat so deep. The team didn't press the ball and Sunderland certainly wanted it far more.

to think some praise mutch as "the best" player we have
he was lucky to stay on the pitch too today...
Sun Apr 27, 2014 7:57 pm

We might win with 12 players

Probably going to get laughed at, but I dont think we're that far off being a good side. If only our defence was organised and we had a fully fit Noone and Zaha, I dont think we'd be that far away.
Just need to be a bit more decisive and stop fannying about with the ball playing neat and tidy football. Need to be confident and efficient.
We never seem to have shots outside the box, or commit men forward in numbers, or hit long balls into the corner for the wingers to chase.
