Why Ole should stay if and when we go down ?

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=140469

Well let's have a look.

After todays inept performance, no pace, no real attempt on goal couldn't string more than 2 passes together and a real lack of passion, some of our fans leaving early makes my answer rather difficult but I will try.

Firstly let's be honest Annis, you had been calling for Malky to be given time and numerous transfer windows to get his squad right and he was afforded many transfer windows and big budgets.

And look at what Ole inherited squad wise.

You have continued to shout that Malky would of kept us up and you are welcome to your opinion, however Malky's relationship with Tan was so soured he had to go (pity it wasn't sooner) if he had stayed until the end of the season without Tan's support we would imo still get relegated as Malky's squad did not have enough goals in it.

Now to your question.

Tan gives Ole his support in full, Ole will move out the dead wood in the summer and bring in his own new players, Tan needs us in the Premier League if he wants to get his money back.

Ole is Tan's man and Tan will not want to lose face or appear to be a failure in his ownership of Cardiff City.

So to answer your question Ole should be given time and transfer windows and a proper budget just like Malky was before we think of changing manager :bluescarf: :ole:

Dead wood? Like Jones, Berget, Fabio and Eikrem?

Ole's been good enough the last fortnight PMSL

4 months is not enough time in football by any means, Ole should be given an actual transfer window and allowed to buy the right players for his style of football

We have at least as good a squad that got promoted last year, even if Caulker, Medel and Marshall leave. Many of the fringe players who have been out on loan can step back in with more experience behind them.

Apart from the 3 above, I can't see any others being wanted by Premier clubs. I expect to see more or Eikrem, Berget and Daehli in the Championship, as they ought to be good enough at that level.

Ole should get a chance - no doubt about it.

If, by some fluke, we win our last 2 games and stay up, it's then that I would worry about Ole!

All Malky signings?

I see what you mean about time and transfer windows, money etc, but is OGS right for Championship scrap?

Maybe the answer is yes. After all, some of the OGS critics have cited the fact that his previous job wasn't top flight level for this country. Maybe he will take to it quite readily.

I suppose the next question is whether we then sack him if and when we win promotion.

My honest opinion is we missed a trick and should have brought in Tony Pullis. He has a knack of grinding out results when the chips are down.

I guess my answer to Annis would be "I don't know". It's still hurting that we are likely to go down after only 1 season. Our noisy neighbours are already swarming over social media and we all know how competitive Championship is. No guarantees of immediate promotion (although to be fair, the experience will have been invaluable to the club).

Let's just hope we get it right.

Assuming we lose Marshall, Caulker and Medel in the summer our squad would be:-

GK - Lewis, Moore
DR - Fabio, TC, Brayford, McNaughton
DL - Taylor, John, Lappin
DC - Cala, Hudson, Connolly, Turner (contract?)
DM - Gunnarson, Whittingham (contract?), Cowie, Eikrem, Kiss
AM - Mutch, Noone, Daehli, Kim, Harris, Ralls, Smith (contract?)
STR - Campbell, Jones, Maynard, Mason, Berget, Velikonja

Apart from at goalkeeper our squad is stronger than the one Malky won the Championship with. I'd be hugely disappointed if Ole couldn't do the same with a similar £10m transfer kitty.

Steven it took us 64 minutes to have a shot on target today, we've been humiliated by the jacks, Hull, Wigan, West Ham, Palace and today Sunderland, we are now bottom of the league.

If I had a choice, no I would not have Ole as manager next season and in my opinion I think he is out of his depth as a manager in English football but if he is our manager then I will still be cheering the team on and I will never boo him during a game.

Here is my positive reply in the following viewtopic.php?f=2&t=140469

I agree! Any manager at 2nd tier would hope to do well with this squad. And this is assuming we lose the 3 stars you mentioned. If we did win promotion in 1 year, though, then some serious money would need to be spent, especially on a striker and GK.

AS LONG AS tan understands that £25m doesn't go far when you are buying goal scorers, then we should be in a better position to challenge.

So you would not give ole (or any other manager) the same time transfer windows and budget that you called for to be given to malky :bluescarf: :ole:

Malky had zero budget for his first season in the championship. I think it's a bit harsh to expect whoever our manager is in the summer to do the same.

Re: Annis just asked me

Oil was the wrong choice by a million miles. The overall results show that and that's taking into account what he inherited. It could not be any worse.

So it looks like the championship and oil has time to sort it out starting on a lower league. Do I think he will be able to turn it around? Well I can't say yes or no as I don't consider his Norwegian experience can be a measurement to go on. Suppose we will have to wait to see.

Re: Annis just asked me

Ole doesn't give us a structure or solidarity. Our tactics are wrong on many occasions and we have no defence.

He continues to play ktc who is woeful and continuously ball watches time and time again.

Our failure to bring in quality in the January transfer window has cost . Palace and hull brought in great transfers in January and its proven.

We don't defend well, we don't retain possession enough and we don't create enough chances.

Ole is not the right person...

Personally I'd stick with Ole. Those who want him gone, who would you want?

We need a proven manager not someone who has only managed in a league no different to the welsh league...

I'm not quite in the out camp but if o was given the choice I would have gone for who we should have got in the first place and that would have been Bielsa.

Logical choice would be Ian Holloway, probably the only manager who could make things even more 'interesting' at the club

Tan will interfere with any manager who comes in purely because of the mismanagement of the summer transfer monies

Re: Annis just asked me

Stick with Ole.

Ole haters usually point out that he change the team too much, he dont know his first 11 and he dont do things the Malky way.
He knows his starting 11 now and has made 1 change to the "winning" team. He took Kimbo out that most of the haters wanted and got a loyal hard working Cowie into the 11. A good choice imo against an aggressive Sunderland midfield.

He also used the same tactic as Malky and besides Fabio and Dæhli this would probably been the team Malky had used.

Imo Ole did almost everything correct today besides taking out KTC who i feel is a extremely poor player who doesn`t know how to position himself.

But what can he do? Play as the 12th man to make sure someone is behind KTC all the time? Run besides Cala and remind him to not get a red card?

I am looking forward to seeing more of Ole and after seeing Cala,Dæhli and Fabio i believe that Tan will trust him with money to improve our team.
If i had to pick from the matches i have seen it shows that these guys WANT to win. You see on their face the hurt they feel when we let in goals.
Just see how Fabio ran after the ball and pushed away the other guy to get the game started. You saw his determination to get the ball up the field and score goals.

Shame the rest of the squad seems to lack that determination and will to win.

In some cases 4 months is enough, why do you rigidly apply that unwritten rule without question? It's clear that Ole was a gamble that failed.

think this is response to the fact that its been argued by people on here that malky was given time to build a team and same people are not affording ole same privalage! :old: just like you are now, how do you know its failed? in long run it could be best thing to happen :?

A Champions League winner who is earning 130k a week up until June 2014 would never come to a Championship club in an absolute mess

Because it's another man's squad

Surely that begs the question as to why Ole was appointed ?! He's had time enough to show he knows what he's doing and in that dept. has failed miserably . The whole club reeks of infighting & we all need to shoulder some blame for that ! This club will go in one direction only with Tan in charge ! The guy is an incompetent meddler who has broken promise after promise ! We need to target HIM personally at the Chelsea game ! Didn't I hear somewhere of throwing as many cabbages as we can on the pitch during the game ! Not sure of the link from Tan to a cabbage but await enlightenment !

He deserves a proper window to sort the squad out. Time will tell if he's right for the job or not.
