StanQpr was right after all!

Sun Apr 27, 2014 1:34 pm

I remember him saying preseason that he was looking forward to seeing his team in the Championship after QPR got relegated. He mentioned about the prices of tickets, match day pricing as a whole, atmosphere is different, smaller teams always seem to have every decision go against them. I'll be honest I'm looking forward to the Championship for next season because let's face it were down. Hopefully back to seeing Cardiff winning games regular and also the banter and thrill of the Championship is better for small teams like Cardiff in my view! :bluescarf:

Dream small and you'll be small. Nothing wrong in aiming high. The potentials there.

Wise words, can see where your coming from. Hopefully a learning curve that can be used to spend wisely and try and build a decent team. Easily 8 or so players not good enough for Premiership.

Yeah, I can only see this as a positive in the long run. We know what's required now.

Much better crack going away in the lower leagues. :ayatollah:

Thanks to the OP.
I remember that thread and it's been playing on my mind thinking "he called it spot on"
But couldn't remember who it was.

Stan QPR was full of shit. His words were those of a defeated man who's side had just been relegated and full of sour grapes.Swansea is a small club and we seem to be doing ok.

What do you get out of beating opposition such as Sheffield Wednesday? I don't want to be content in seeing my team picking up wins against average opposition, I want to see my team at the elite sides, at the elite grounds, watching the most exciting players on the planet

Agree with this. It tends to be the clubs that have all failed that say this... wolves, QPR etc... Funny that. :laughing6:

You're free to disagree but IMO the Premier League is rubbish. I don't really like the Champions League either. Maybe I just enjoy lower league stuff more. Each to their own.

What is the point in being in the championship then? Teams fight to get here, so if you dont want to get here then its all a bit dull really isnt it.

Not rubbish just different, the hype is over the top and the small teams do get a lot more of the bad decisions, still it was fun while it lasted, but the Championship is a good League and I do enjoy it also, just as well probably.......

I hate myself for replying to you Roathy but I will, I don't think the OP means to say he doesnt want to be in the Premier League again, he is merely saying that he is looking forward to next season, for the reasons he has clearly stated in his post. I feel the same, we have been comprehensively beaten week after week, and next season we can hopefully be more competitive and football will be more affordable so I can see more of it. Nor I or the OP states they do not want promotion again in the future merely that next season will probably be more enjoyable as a city fan than this one has been.

You've got it in one. Of course like any fan of this club I want to see Cardiff competing with the elite, this season has been a shambles.

If you'd have stayed up you wouldn't be saying it was rubbish, would you? It would be mental as a football fan to say something like that. You all celebrated wildly down the Bay when you got promoted with 10's of thousands turning up.I guess you wasn't one of them then?

The only poster i remember saying on here before you got to the PL that he wasn't that bothered about it was Carpe Diem.

So the Premier League is preferred?

A long and successful spell in the Premier League is what I would prefer, but since that is not going to happen anytime soon, I will look to the pro's of a season in the Championship, of which there are plenty, I like going to watch my team as much as I can you see Roathy, and I could afford more away trips last season, being an armchair supporter doesn't appeal to me at all.

It's also a bit boring being in the prem aiming for mid table every season.

Dont mind either way. If we stay up its more money. If we go down its better entertainment imo. Win win either way for me regardless. I'd be happy to be a yoyo club like Reading.

You all celebrated wildly down the Bay when you got promoted with 10's of thousands turning up.I guess you wasn't one of them then?

I was at uni so no I wasn't in Cardiff at the time. Hope this clears it up. I dont see the Premier League as nothing more than the football equivalent of our capitalist economic system. Its an exact football clone of it and proof of that was Man City's owner throwing money at the cause and them finally competing and winning the league whereas clubs like Burnley can compete in the Championship.

I honestly wouldn't mind being a yoyo club....of course, without Tan around.

There are always pros to every league, even league 2. But thats isn't the point.

The point is trying to make out like it is preferred - it just sounds ridiculous.

Look forward to the championship by all means, but dont think for a second that anyone will believe you if you are saying you wouldn't have taken a win today and subsequent survival.

It's also a bit boring watching star players like Troy Deeney and Ross McCormack rather than Sergio Aguero and RVP.

You can aim for wherever you like.

Its not all about instant success, boom or bust - this is what ive been telling you for years.

You all bleat on about wanting to be a huge club but back a model that doesn't allow sustainability. You grow little by little. Look at our team for example.

1st year - Danny Graham, 2nd year - Graham/Michu, 3rd year - Bony with michu just behind

Every year you survive and live within your means is another year you can bank for the future and grow your side.

But I can remember you saying Malky out...Malky in and so on.They are not the words or thoughts of a man who doesn't care.If I could be bothered i could pull up 10's of threads where you were clearly upset or elated over your Premier League results.

You're upset atm and I understand but to say you don't care and would prefer the Championship anyway is silly. When the dust settles I'm sure you'll see more sense.

Think what you want. Tell me what's good about struggling in the Premier League or knowing you'll only ever compete mid table or Europa League at the most? No one of serious credibility is going to invest in you and you haven't got the funds to compete. At the best all you can do is finish mid table, win the cups and qualify for the Europa League. You and us and other clubs our size have no chance of competing at the top which makes it a shit league IMO. In the Championship even rubbish teams tipped for relegation like Burnley can turn it all on its head. Thats the magic of the Championship IMO and which is why it appeals to me.

Why do you think what appeals to you appeals to everyone else?

He was stating how happy he was last week that norwich have a hard run-in and how its making him feel better. :D

I like James but he doesn't half go through spells of talking bollocks.

Green Arrow wrote:

Im so happy Norwich's fixture list is horrid otherwise I'd be feeling a lot worse now. I can see them getting 2 points from the 12 on offer with the 2 coming from draws vs United and Arsenal. I can see us and Fulham both getting 4 points and Sunderland 6 from their remaining 15 on offer.

That would leave:

Norwich - 34 points
Cardiff - 34 points
Fulham - 34 points
Sunderland - 32 points

As it stands on goal difference we'd go down but we have winnable games to turn that around whereas hopefully Norwich take a pasting or two starting off against Liverpool tomorrow. I hope Suarez puts 10 on them tomorrow to swing things in our favour. Thankfully, on the last day of the season Norwich have Arsenal and we have Chelsea so we should both expecting losses there and no massive goal difference swing. Our goal difference is currently 8 better than Fulham's.
