David Moyes sacked rumour

Mon Apr 21, 2014 6:19 pm

I've heard this a few times this evening that he has been relieved of his duties

A Manchester Utd official apparently refused to comment this evening when asked if it was true

Would be shocked if they sacked him this early .

Benitez would be one of the ideal appointments but not sure it'd go down well with fans and not sure he'd take it after he had such a rivalry with Fergie

A big mistake imo. Was on a hiding ti nothing after taking over from fergie but was left with an aging squad and should have been given at the very least another season. I always wondered if they would employ a cannon fodder manager though with the intent of taking all the pressure of being fergie's successor and then going for their first choice after that.

I think he should have had time and the problem is the squad rather than the manager but it's probably best to have a clean slate.

Louis van Gaal is ready to succeed doomed David Moyes as Manchester United boss.

Moyes is facing the sack on Tuesday after less than a year in charge, because United finally lost patience with him and decided to cut their losses.

Mirror Sport reported 10 days ago how United have already sounded out Holland boss Van Gaal, who is expected to meet with the club’s hierarchy this week.

Van Gaal is currently at his villa in Portugal’s Algarve and is expecting a meeting there with a delegation from the Old Trafford giants to discuss the prosepct of taking over from Moyes.

The Dutch coach has already held talks with Tottenham but the 62-year-old is said to be holding out for the United job, which is why he has yet to commit to Spurs.

The Reds' US owners, the Glazer family, are making £200million available to strengthen the squad this summer, and are not willing to trust Moyes with that kind of money. They want a proven winner instead.

United are set to give Moyes his marching orders before Saturday’s home game against Norwich and will ask Ryan Giggs to take over as caretaker boss for the rest of the season.

Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp is also on United’s radar and is ready to talk to them.

Sources close to Klopp revealed on Monday that there has been no contact at the moment, but added he would be more than keen to come.
