' interesting Debate
My opinion Kenwyne Jones was a massive mistake and if we stay up, no for next season, if we go down, perfect for the Championship, but wages of course way to high though, £37,000 a week.
If Kenwyne Jones was still good enough for the Premier League, I reckon Tony Pulis would of taken him to Crystal Palace.
I personally rate Odemwingie

Jones isn't perfect for the Championship because he's on huge wages, apparently.
Mon Apr 21, 2014 3:29 pm
I'm not sure I'd want to keep him in the Championship.
He would have to show a lot more hunger and desire than he's showing at the moment and I'm not sure he could get motivated enough to be a success in the Championship.

Only, Odemwingie made way for Daelhi, not Jones. So the question should be would you rather have Daelhi or Odemwingie?
Neither Jones or Cambell will be here next season.
Mon Apr 21, 2014 3:38 pm
yes same here odenwingie a far better player
also would have kept rudy too and wasn't too heavy with the wage structure either .
Mon Apr 21, 2014 3:43 pm
How can you compare Jones and Odemwingie?
Totally different types of players and Jones was something we didnt have whereas Campbell is in the Odemwingie mould.
PO was awful for us, so in my eyes the swap was warranted. Not much difference in wages between the two.
Remember who scored the winner v Norwich as they could prove to be vital.
Mon Apr 21, 2014 3:47 pm
Just because Odemwingie's doing well for Stoke doesn't mean it was a mistake to let him go, he wasn't anything special when he was here, all players are suited to certain clubs.
Mon Apr 21, 2014 3:50 pm
jones can be class on his day, sadly hes not shown it for us atm but if he can rediscover his Southampton days and early stoke days then he will be a important player for us next season
Mon Apr 21, 2014 4:01 pm
different managers mean different styles which suite players differently, odemwingie played under manager who played one up with no help for him, totally different style at stoke so hes playing better its that simple.
also would think rudy far better bet than jones in champ judgeing by his form since loaned out!

I was going to say the same, the reason for the swop was to give us a big plan B for certain games or to change games as a sub, unfortunately it didn't work out as he is too lazy and unmobile.
Still cheaper than Malky's version at £8million....

loaned out and made permanent, wont see rudy for us again

ahhh well another mistake by club!!

I would have Dhaeli and Noone ahead of Odemwingie out wide but not Kim. Would Odemwingie be happy as 3rd choice. Doubt it. Although he may have been better now we are more attacking
Mon Apr 21, 2014 4:25 pm
If we win our next two games 1-0 with jones headers you'll all be lining up to suck him off.
Mon Apr 21, 2014 4:26 pm
Really believe we should have kept Rudi. Admittedly he's not the best but we'd shown patience and given him time to develop and I believe he would be a much better impact and plan b player than jones. Also about £30k a week cheaper. Can't compare PO and jones as tactics used completely different, he has shown his best at stoke and played well against us on Saturday so Malky definitely didn't utilise him correctly.

Ole is Cardiff City's manager he wanted to do the swap. so NO mistake and his wages will drop if we go down

Spot on. Dont rate jones at all but po was just rubbish for us.

Unlikely to score he hardly ever plays, and when he does doesn't break a sweat.....
Mon Apr 21, 2014 4:43 pm
Jones looked fine in the last game.
Would much rather have him. Wish the best for PO but idk why he was ever signed if he wasn't to be used correctly. Best for both clubs and both players IMO. Moving along...
Mon Apr 21, 2014 4:55 pm
Might have worked better together as odenwingie seems to do alright alongside crouch.
We were using odenwingie and Cornelius as target men and hoping they would get on the end of turners hoof balls whereas both men preferred the ball played down the channels hence the reason both have rediscovered their goal scoring form since they left us.
I don't think jones is as bad as people make out and his physicality will be needed in the championship

Odemwingie didn't like it here under malky by the time ole came in PO was unsettled and wanted to go back to that area. Stoke wanted rid of Jones so the swap was best for both at that time.. hindsight is a wonderful thing and another thing PO's wages were similar to Jones's so equally to much for the championship if he had stayed and we go down so non story really
Mon Apr 21, 2014 5:11 pm
Two totally different types of goal scorers, PO was a desperate signing by Mackay and was exactly the same as the two other forwards we had, so didn't get games, OGS identified that we needed another dimension so a swap was justifiable. I still think that Jones may play an important part in keeping us up
Mon Apr 21, 2014 5:23 pm
Pretty pointless debate for me. Totally different types of players, we needed a target man, which is why cornelius was sold and KJ was brought in. I would of preferred odemwingie over Campbell tho if we are comparing players that are similar.

Target man or no target man. Would of been better than that f*cking cart horse!!'
Why not use mutch as a target man??

Mutch

that comment just shows you know fucall. Mutch needs to be attacking the box, not sitting up top waiting for balls.
Ole did actually try to sign Ross but got turned down, so I'm not sure what your talking about to be honest
