What's the big attraction at half time?

Sun Apr 20, 2014 2:41 pm

It starts after about 35 minutes of the first half.

At first it's just a trickle.

By 40 minutes in it's a constant stream of people, flowing down all the aisles.

By the time the half time whistle blows, large expanses of blue seats can be seen.

So, what is the huge attraction of heading to the concourse whilst the game is still going on.

Is it the refreshing, reasonably priced beer? Is it the delicious, freshly cooked and reasonably priced food? Is it the shared experience of queueing 5 deep at the urinals?

Am I missing something going on in the concourse at half time which makes so many people leave their seats whilst the match is still going on to race down there?

Same as lots of empty seats when the second half starts , bet that doesn't impress the players or give them much confidence in their own supporters , makes my blood boil . :old: :bluescarf:

Sadly players do not give two fucks about whos in a seat at any part of the game they care about whats in there wallet and whens the next big move comming and who can blame them its a job after all its just our own fans seem to think cardiff city players love the club when i know players present and past who couldnt have given to hoots despite what fans think of there love of the club. Just a job afterall

It's the same reason there's loads of empty seats, even in the Canton, just as the players come out.....

It's because all the so called genuine fans are really there to get pissed with their mates rather than give TOTAL support to the team.

I observe it every week and it never ceases to amaze me.

What I don't understand is why you have 'fans' watching the game under the concourse during the middle of the game!! I had to rush(didn't want to miss any of the game ;) ) to the toilet on the 60th minute mark yesterday and there were plenty doing it

Taste like feral cats piss, I drink the same lager in the Vic Park for £2.65 and it is a cracking pint so f**ks knows what the suppliers are dumping at the stadium ? add to the fact they are charging almost a third more in price and it just beggares belief :o .

They are the cretins who couldn't possibly support the team for 90 minutes without a break for beer.

Here's a novel idea.

If you're the thirsty type, have a few beers in some of the many local pubs before the game and if you're the hungry type, buy some food in some of the many pubs, cafes or takeaways nearby.

You'll probably find that your food and drink will be much cheaper and taste a lot better.

If you're REALLY thirsty, make plans to go to another of the many local pubs as soon as the match has finished - as far as I am aware, none of them are closed at 5pm.

And whilst you're actually in the stadium, why not try spending your time actually supporting the team instead of queueing for piss poor beer and rancid burgers. This will have two benefits - the team will benefit from your cheering and shouting and even better it will teach Compass (or whoever does the catering now) that their overpriced piss poor food and beer is not acceptable.

Yes I've got a few thanks for asking.

They're all more interested in watching the game than drinking or eating though!

You've all gone soft.

Nobody moaned when all that was available was a shack at either end of the bob bank selling some sort of tea and not much else. None of this concours with tv stuff, if it rained you got wet and and the heavier it rained the wetter you got. :old:

The big attraction well for me anyway is the feel off that brown stuff coming out your bum ready to hit the deck so I make a quick dash for the toilet.

Instead of resorting to name calling, learn to spell properly.

Surpose another way of looking at it,would be if everyone had a drink or two at half time, the atmosphere I guarantee would be better!if no-one had a drink at half time the atmosphere would be crap!you can't have it both ways!

im a customer and a spend a huge amount of my own money on supporting my team, but if you think for one moment i'm going to rush back to my seat just in case the millionaires on the pitch dont play as well for 5 minutes or so after paying all that money then you've got to be joking!

FYI i dont leave untill the HT whistle, go outside, have 2 fags then go back in...its very rare that i miss a minute of the action. But if i did then it would be ridiculous to think some sad b*stard is sitting there...blood boiling and judging me for not cutting short my enjoyment to make sure that im there for every minute of every game throughout the season.

if you need a piss during the game do u go to the bogs or do u just sit there in your own piss?

People will do what they like, they're down the football with their mates having a few drinks, it's not exactly a crime is it. I can't understand why people pay good money to go into the stadium to stay down and watch it on the tele, pickles me to be fair, but to call people cretins because they fancy a beer before the game and during half time is a bit strange if you ask me.
