A Day For ZAHA To Step Up

Sat Apr 19, 2014 7:52 am

It's fair to say that to date Zaha has not set the world on fire after his loan move but today is the need that he needs to steep up and produce the goods. Stoke are going to be a hard team to break down and with Noone out more rests on his shoulders.

There is no doubt that he has the ability to beat opposition defences and score goals, so whether he starts or comes off the bench I would like to see him run at Stoke, create the chances, score a goal or be brought down in the box. He has the ability to make a name for himself. Come on Wilf. :ayatollah: :bluescarf:

Zaha has the opportunity to build on his cameo last week and to show the fans at home he is up for the task after his poor showing against Palace :ayatollah:

Then let's make sure we back him wholeheartedly instead of waiting for the first sniff of a mistake so we can boo and jeer him. He's a confidence player and we have a huge part to play.

Very poor by ole to select him against palace in my opinion. A young boy who was always going to find the situation very emotional.
Playing for a loan club whom he has no affinity for against the club he has known since a youngster knowing that a goal from him could possibly plunge his boyhood club into further relegation difficulties.

A professional player should take it in his stride and do his job . Ledley had a similar situation and was very professional , I have a lot of respect for him for doing that in all honesty

Bit of a difference between the two players thomas Ledley is now a seasoned pro with champions league experience whereas Zaha is only on loan at Cardiff because his dream move to man utd has gone pear shaped.
Ledley did not want to resign for Celtic and wanted to come back to the premier league.
Two different states of mind and confidence levels.

I understand that but the fact Ledley was possibly sending his hometown team down who he spent a long time with was very similar .if Zaha wants to be a top professional player these things crop up and he will have to deal with it otherwise his career will go nowhere if he can't be relied on .

I can actually see him back at palace now thomas especially now they have stayed up. If he can't get in the utd squad the way they have been playing and bearing in mind two of his main rivals nani and young have been mostly injured.

I think that will depend on wether pulis wants him . Obviously the fans do but he doesn't seem like a player tony pulis would go for especially given his price tag and wages .
He may rot in the reserves or be a journey man constantly on loan for Couple of seasons

Zaha is not a young boy. He will be 22 this year so imo its ridiculous to blame this on OGS for picking him. OGS obviously thought he had professional pride and treated him like an adult not a youth player. At 21-22 Zaha really should be performing consistently on a good level if he wants to be a top player. He has loads of raw talent but lacks intelligence and maturity in his game. This wouldn't be a big problem if he had the right mentality but he seems to be lacking in this department which is stunting his growth as a player. He showed how good he has the potential to be against southampton lets hope he can improve on that performance today.
