The Premier League and Cardiff City

Thu Apr 17, 2014 6:46 pm

I’ve waited nearly 40 years to watch my beloved Cardiff City play at the top level. To play the big teams the media drool over and to see for my own eyes why the FA and Sky TV have brain washed the rest of the world in to thinking it’s the best league in the world.

I’ve never been more disappointed.

What a huge let down. As far as I’m concerned the Premier League and its referees are totally biased towards the big teams which in turn are full of cheating and moaning players. No one more so than Luis Suarez. He depicts everything that’s wrong with modern football and the FA love him. I firmly believe Liverpool will win the title because the FA want them to. Don’t get me wrong they play fast attacking football but bloody hell they’ve had loads of really dodgy and shocking decisions go their way, especially the last two to three months. Last week Richard Scudamore, CE of the Premier League, said that the Premier League’s worldwide popularity has suffered due to Man United’s poor form this season because they are the best supported English team around the world. So what better way to improve their popularity than for the second best supported English team around the world, to win the title – Liverpool.

The Premier League is also one of the most predictable leagues in the world from top to bottom. The title is contested by the big four or five clubs, Spurs finish 5th or 6th with Everton close by. The promoted three plus about four smaller clubs fight it out against relegation and the rest form an orderly queue in the middle. Last season saw Aston Villa narrowly avoid relegation. If their supporters are honest they would say that was the most exciting season they’ve had for more years than most could remember.

From a Cardiff view point it’s been disappointing for a completely different reason. And that reason is Vincent Tan. So far he has:
• Devalued our history and defecated on our heritage by changing our colour and badge without consulting the most important people, the fans.
• Hinting on one than one occasion that he wants to change the name of the club.
• Said no to end of season player bonuses resulting in the players wanting him banned from the dressing room.
• Interfered with team selections and tactics.
• Publically criticised and then sacked Ian Moody.
• Employed an illegal painter and decorator as Chief Recruitment Officer.
• Booed his own team after losing.
• Sacked our most successful Manager, Malky Mackay days after sending him an email telling him to resign or be sacked.
• Blamed Mackay and Moody for over spending when it’s clearly not either of them that signs off the cheques.
• Publically devalued Malky Mackay’s management skills by claiming Ole is a much better manager.
• Publically claimed that Dave Jones did a better job than Malky Mackay and that Malky was “lucky” to get the job.
• Tried to bribe the players to play better with belated and illegal bonuses of £3.7m.
• Publically criticised Cardiff’s fans on the BBC for “disrespecting” him and saying we need to apologies to him.
• Also saying on the BBC that we’ll never go back to blue as long as he is the owner.
• Charging the club 7% interest on all loans.
• Made us £140 million in debt because he has failed to do what he promised and turn his loans in to equity.
• And now embarrassing us even more by complaining to the FA about the leaked team sheet to Crystal Palace and asking for the result not to stand. It’s pathetic. He’s only complaining so he can have another pop at Ian Moody. Never mind dragging our name through the shit again.

In short his stupidity, arrogance and pure selfishness has turned our once proud Bluebirds in to a complete laughing stock and a joke of a football club. He’s also ruined the once respected reputation of us Cardiff City supporters. Yet some fans still won’t have a bad word said about him and want him to stay. Glory hunters, Plastics, whatever you want to call them, I wish they’d go back to watching Man United and Liverpool from the comfort of their favourite armchair. I don’t understand how anyone can feel a connection with a club that play their home games 200 miles away.

I for one will definitely not be disappointed if we get relegated. We’ve had more bad publicity this season than the previous 38 collective years I’ve supported them. I just want my club back. :old:

We’re Cardiff City. We’ll Always Be Blue. :bluescarf:
