Man Utd's comparison sticks out!

Chelsea are 18-1 on penalties the last two seasons.

Swansea didn't have a penalty last season... #conspiracy

Well the laws of gravity say we are due a penalty :bluescarf: :ayatollah: , or we are due to concede a penalty :o  .

At one point we had a period spanning across 3 (yes three) Premier League seasons where we didnt get a penalty.

That's because you spend most of the time passing the ball to each other in your own half. Like us, you have to get into the penalty area to get a penalty

Yet we finished 11th, 9th and won a major trophy in that period.... How could that be :laughing6:

Myth busting since 2011

I think it's because we're Welsh. Pisses me off how we don't get given the stone wallers yet teams like Liverpool get absolutely everything, yet they still complain when a decision doesn't go their way :x

Count yourself lucky, we dont just not get given them - but they get given against is for absolutely nothing too.

See Stoke for details.

How is it meaningless?

You stated you didn't get a penalty when it's quite clear in the link that you had one. On the BBC live text linked to the right someone points out you'd had 4 penalties each of them dispatched to the bottom right of the goal by Sinclair.

I can even describe the Arsenal penalty in detail as I was watching the match hoping you'd get pummelled. Nathan Dyer stamped on Ramsey's ankle in the box and fell over and the ref gave it as a penalty.

In fact you had:

6 penalties in your maiden premier league season.

0 last season

2 so far this season.

I stated....

"We had a period spanning across 3 Premier League seasons in which we didnt recieve a penalty".

That is correct.

End of 2011/12 - all of 2012/13 - start of 2013/14

Myth busting eh

Dictionary definition of Spannning states "the complete duration or extent"

Therefore you are still incorrect :ayatollah:

And it did.

The complete duration of the extent was a period of about 16 months.

However the actual dictionary definition is;

2.
extend across (a period of time or a range of subjects).
"their interests span almost all the conventional disciplines"
synonyms: extend over, last, stretch across, spread over, cover, range over, comprise, compass More

You stated it spanned across 3 seasons not 16 months. :ayatollah:

And it clearly did. Not sure what is confusing you.

End of 2011/12, all of 2012/13, beginning of 2013/14

That is a period spanning across 3 seasons.

Your dictionary is wrong as always

Maybe you could try to turn the pages of that dictionary into a more effective spade, the one you currently have seems to be having the opposite effect :D
