Do You Consider CCS 'Home' yet?

Tue Apr 15, 2014 4:00 pm

Do you consider the new stadium as "ours" yet? always interested to see how ppl feel about the new stadium, especially with the new stand coming in to give it a smidge more identity

Yes, not a huge fan of the stadium but it is our home

It's strange because I really liked Southampton's ground on the weekend even though the inside is putty much identical to CCS (apart from the red) so it's hard to say but I would probably say yes

Maybe, atmosphere was great. But when I was walking up to my seats it seemed like a good stadium

When the stadium first opened, it was a bit of a blank canvas. Its starting to take shape now though, and with the expansion, it should add a lot more character. I really like the stadium, and considering its only a few years old, we've been spoilt with some great memorable occasions that would rival anything I witnessed at ninian park. My only gripe, is the outside looks a bit tacky, with that cheap cladding. Would be nice if all that was changed to something a bit more upmarket lol

never...the atmosphere has been awful, totally ruined with the seating layout and over zealous stewarding....but most off all its not ninian park, please dont tell me to move on...i am that dinosaur. :D

Yes, but they need to do so,etching to the atmosphere. I know it's ultimately down to the fans, but after recent trips to West Brom and Southampton it's evident that having singers next to the away end makes a huge difference. The banter we had on both occasions was fun and definitely raised the atmosphere.

Agree with the post about the exterior. If we were to have an all round upgrade, in our rightful colours, it would look a lot better

Would you have prefered it if ninian park was redeveloped instead of moving ?

I never went the hawthorns this season but went a few years back in the cup and thought it was deffo one of the more lively PL grounds with singing sections on both sides of us

On the plus side I have a great view from my seat behind the goal in the family stand, but I am still finding it hard to come to terms with the CCS.

I hate the car park fiasco after every game, the food is diabolical, the music is often way too loud which kills any pre-match atmosphere, I'm fed up with the muppets in front of me who keep getting up to go for a piss or even more chips every ten minutes or so, Ali never calls us the bluebirds anymore and for the most part all we can hear are the away fans singing. I've only missed three games since we've been there but the atmosphere has only been good in a handful of matches.

So I voted I'm not sure if I can ever get used to it - there's not a lot wrong with the stadium itself, but it just hasn't really felt the same despite our relative success since we've been there.

It's the only ground Cardiff City got, so yes it's our home

If anyone still considers Ninian Park as their home then consider yourselves homeless. Move on, this is the new chapter. :ayatollah:

FairPlay on the Rebrand choice. Made me giggle.

It's kinda like losing a loved one.
You may move on but you will never forget her..

couldn't agree more. I really like this new ground, and if we were still at NP i would be saying "we need a new ground this is shit, we are way behind the rest of *insert division we are in here*"

but right now i'd do anything just to see one more boring 0-0 there.

I do class the stadium has home and the atmoshpere is not as bad as some on here would have you believe. Ninian park wasnt always the fortress everyone raves about. Don't get me wrong on its day it was one of the best but I rememeber it being like a libary a number times.

There is number of things I dislike about the new stadium though. The blue cladding on the outside makes it look cheap and tacky and this season with all the massive advertisements behind the fans look awfull!!! I know this is to generate money but I would have rathered just plain metal sheets up instead of a huge clarks pie advert etc.....

I'm looking forward to the extention being finished to add a bit of character to the ground.

that will be the clincher for me, our ground is a little bit identikit atm so looking forward to seeing how it will look once the stand is complete, especially on TV.

its just a shame my ST is in 108 so i'll only be able to see the underside of it from where i'm sitting

I guess you have to consider it home now , but its like anything else ,when you move house you always will remember the brilliant times you had in the old house, and of course the bad.
