Cardiff City have stepped up their row with former head of recruitment Iain Moody after making an official complaint to the Premier League over the ’spy’ scandal.
The Welsh club insist they have evidence that Moody, who now works as Crystal Palace’s director of football, contacted members of Cardiff staff before their game on April 5 in a bid to discover team information.
Palace comfortably won the game 3-0 but Cardiff have compiled a detailed dossier claiming to prove Moody’s involvement, with sources even alleging that certain inducements could have been offered in exchange.
Moody, who was dismissed by Cardiff in October, and Palace have strenuously denied the claims and chairman Steve Parish declined to comment when contacted by Telegraph Sport on Monday evening.
The Premier League issued a statement which read: "The Premier League has received a formal complaint from Cardiff City and will now investigate the matter."
Two Cardiff employees are facing disciplinary action over the controversy, while it is also understood that a football analyst was dismissed early last week for gross misconduct, though it was not related to the alleged leaking of the team to Palace.
The League is duty-bound to investigate though the issue is delicate due to the bad blood that exists between Cardiff and Moody, with Malky Mackay, the former manager, taking his demand for compensation to court.
Palace are convinced Cardiff’s accusations are a vendetta against Moody, who was appointed in November, and are designed to sabotage their own battle against relegation.

Cardiff make official complaint to Premier League over Crystal Palace 'spy' claims
By Croydon Advertiser | Posted: April 14, 2014
THE Premier League will investigate claims Crystal Palace 'spied' on Cardiff City, after the Welsh club lodged an official complaint.
Cardiff officials believe they have evidence that their former director of football Iain Moody - now at Palace - contacted up to three members of their staff before the game earlier this month, which Palace won 3-0.
They claim Moody was trying to get team selection information - an allegation the Eagles' sporting director denies.
The Premier League this evening confirmed it had received a formal complaint and would now investigate the matter further.
Moody joined Palace in November, having been sacked earlier in the season by Cardiff's eccentric owner Vincent Tan.

Totally agree and I hope the club have the same line.
it would be absolutely embarrassing if our club tried to suggest that these leaks had anything to do with our inept performance and the ease of Palace's victory on the day.
However it is totally right that anybody who has been involved in this unprofessional and immoral conduct should have the book thrown at them. Not the club, but individuals.

The Welsh giants insist former head of recruitment Iain Moody attempted to gain advanced knowledge of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team for the match against Crystal Palace
The Premier League have confirmed they will investigate a formal complaint from Cardiff City alleging that Crystal Palace sporting director Iain Moody tried to obtain team information from Bluebirds employees ahead of the clash between the two sides earlier this month.
Cardiff insist Moody, who was formerly Malky Mackay's head of recruitment until his departure in acrimonious circumstances last year, contacted at least three members of club staff before the Premier League relegation six-pointer, which Palace went on to win 3-0.
The Welsh giants believe Moody was hoping to gain advanced knowledge of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's starting XI prior to the clash, and have made their complaint official.
A Premier League statement read: "The Premier League has received a formal complaint from Cardiff City and will now investigate the matter."

Yes, but unlike earlier posts, let's wait and see exactly who the culprit's are before sending out the lynch mob like some did earlier this week! First it was Zaha, then it was the analyst, and lord knows who next...

Can't understand why moody got involved in the first place. Far from being bitter about being sacked he should be happy that he got his full contract paid up when if anything he was more responsible than Malky for the poor use of transfer funds during the summer.
I would love to be able to read his so called three stage dossiers on corny and brayford.
I bet the Cornelius one reads " watched that you tube video of Cornelius again last night looks promising". " was going to fly out and watch Cornelius on Saturday but it was the britains got talent semi final so stayed on the sofa with the missus, watched the you tube video again though before I went to bed"
" heard through the grapevine that Martin Jol has watched the you tube video 10 times now and is considering bidding two million euros for Cornelius I have told Malky we need to blow fulhams bid out of the water.

The Welsh giants
Welsh giants? Holy shit!
I don't think that the club are saying that it influenced the outcome (although it could had OS decided to change the formation he was practicing all week). They just think it is against the rules. I would complain if anyone was attempting to do the dirty on my club. I am no lawyer but if it is true it is highly unethical and possible against the laws of the EPL.

Mate, you're a Welsh Wanker. This has nothing to do with Tan at all. The club is perfectly justified in their decision to make an official complaint. Whether we would have lost or not, it's unsporting and cheating.
