There has actually been them over the years, even a 2 minute silence a few years ago

I don't see why it would matter anyway? You're obviously having a dig at the tributes to Hillsborough yesterday?

Heysel happened on 29th May, which is almost always off season, barring the odd Champions' League final.
I think it is slughtly insensitive to criticise the press coverage of Hillsborough. It isn't just the fact that 96 people, innocent people, died - it is the fact that their memories were tainted by the suggestion that their friends, colleagues and families were to blame for their deaths,.
Imagine going to a game of football, witnessing your friends and loved ones dieing needlessly, then spending the next 25 years trying to prove it wasn't your fault due to the cover ups by the police?
Maybe Im an old romantic at heart - but I don't have any issue at all with the press coverage Hillsborough gets.

Its not a competition as to which disaster was worse...
People died - just remember that and pay tribute when required

An obvious dig at the Hillsborough disaster, like blue lagoon says there is a nasty minority on here.
Innocent people died, it will always be a tragedy.

Every club has a nasty minority and Liverpool's nasty minority caused people to tragically lose their lives at Hillsborough and Heysel.
Those that were lost should be remembered on both days.
This isn't a competition.

No disrespect intended, and forgive my pedantry, but this comment is exactly why Liverpool are still campaigning for justice.
Hillsborough had absolutely nothing, zero, to do with Liverpool's 'nasty minority' - it is (now) publicised and accepted as fact. It could have been any club, any set of fans, but for the grace of god it could have been 96 bluebirds killed that day. It was caused by a combination of an ill equipped stadium, police who hadn't been adequately trained and fans not being directed to the safe pens which were not dangerously full.
Heysel is another story altogether - the problem is football is hardly ever, if indeed ever, played on May 29th. Although I do agree that the lives of those lost should be commemorated on anniversary years.

zero?..........i think that is what gets to people..i recently watched irish TV footage of the 6 mins, the players continued playing with little concern, packed terraces and fans climbing fences didnt seem out of the ordinary at big games back then. it could have been any club, us even..football learned a lot that day.......but for one factor { the fans } to want to be totally blameless is crap.....sorry but people want to blame ,blame anyone and everyone bar themselves.......it was tragic, and i have often thought it could have been me,my dad,my wife who died. im not heartless but to blame every single factor apart from the fans is as bad as just blaming the fans and turning a blind eye to everything else wrong that day......the fans were 100% a factor in that tragedy..unintentional but a big factor.

And what about Munich?
Plonker!
This was a very important marking of a tragedy, a possible cover-up and the football family coming together to support each other so that it doesn't happen again..
WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?
