POST OF THE YEAR CONTENDER

Wed Apr 09, 2014 2:30 pm

SUMS UP PERFECTLY

Tenth relegation for me. Waited all my life to see us in the top league and it's been awful. People down the club I have known for years go to work miserable and in fear of their jobs every day.

I believe that tan and his son will interfere in the playing side and purchase of players whoever is manager so I fully expect ole to walk sooner or later.

As soon as we are officially relegated I believe the training ground will be shelved amongst other things and we will be no closer to the debt to equity swap.

For me the love of the club has gone hopefully only temporary but I cannot support the present regime who are using the club as a subbuteo set and are obsessed with turning us into their own mini version of man utd.

Briliant post!
Shows the stark facts of the complete mess our club is in.
Can it ever become the club we all once loved again?

No because this is modern football, times have changed and football will change even more as years go on.

A very good post & one i can relate to.

Just when you think things can't get any worse, VT&Co will come up with something which will unimaginably exceed our worst nightmares.

My dad took me to my first game in 1966 at 8 years of age some 48 years ago and in that time I've seen some shit with the Clemo and alan Durban era in particular. I've seen us sweating over almost having to apply for re election to the football league but by the same token I have seen us play home and away in Europe of which a lot of the newer fans can only dream of.
I was initially happy that tan saved the club from what looked like certain oblivion but all I see now are mates whom I have been going with home and away for the last 35 years arguing about rebrands, colours of shirts and managers etc.
I believe tan will always interfere with transfers whilst he is at the club and no manager will ever have a free reign again to sign who they want without tans approval.
It's not about being negative or giving up it's about not recognising my club as it stands and not enjoying going to the games anymore.
As I say above I hope it's temporary and hopefully a new owner will come in and I can have my old club back but after 48 years I think I am allowed to make that decision without being accused of being negative and a quitter

Nothing personal Steve you are a great poster, I was replying to the statement that it is a post of the year contender. I respect your own personal view and understand where you are coming from, I simply disagreed that it could be a post of the year, as it is just someone saying why they have had enough..........

Good luck, all the best for the future, it's a shame that life long fans like yourself are giving up on going to games........

Agreed Jinks, lots of times,we fans have had plenty of reasons to just walk away, but still,we havent as of yet! Must say though, the modern day football,is a world away to how it used to make me feel back in the day! Have enjoyed our brief flutter in the prem,as I had promised myself to do,and will be still supporting the city for as long as I breathe, regardless of who owns us,and whatever division we are in.Just cant help myself, like many others no doubt.CCFC!
