Dave jones or Malky Mackay

According to bakedalaska, Dave Jones team was far superior to Malkys promotion team of last season. If so, what does that say about malky considering the funds he had compared to DJ. Who do you think had the best team? answers on a postcard.

malkay was better for me , dj did some great things on times for the club but also fucked up on too many occasions . but its only malkay that ever gets shit on this forum , every week somebody posts about the Cornelius transfer like as if no manager before made terrible signings lol

malkay was better for me , dj did some great things on times for the club but also fucked up on too many occasions . but its only malkay that ever gets shit on this forum , every week somebody posts about the Cornelius transfer like as if no manager before made terrible signings lol

But the signing of Cornelius is one of the sole reasons we are going down, spending money on an unproven striker when a source of goals was the most important thing we needed this season

The facts. Did Dave Jones get us promoted? How many seasons did he have to do it? Did Malky Mackay get us promoted? In how many seasons did he do it?

You can be given all the money in the world. It doesn't guarantee you players that will deliver. Malky took us to the Premier League. Dave Jones didn't. I feel both did good and bad for the club but if you have to compare the two, as impossible as it may seem, I think Malky did more for us.

As much as I'm great flu for what DJ did for the club, he did all he could. He failed to take us up in 2010 and 2011 which were the best squads I've seen at City other than this season. When you look at where we were when he joined compared to where we were in June 2011, we'd come a long way.

But Malky actually did take us up in 2 seasons, one of which was a rebuilding season in which we still got to a cup final and the play offs on a appear thin squad. People can also say about how much we spent last year, but a fair chink of that was on Maynard and Velikonja. One of which was really unlucky and put out for the season and the other just didn't fit. That's almost £4m taken out of what we spent last year

Dave Jones spent a lot of money (wages) on older players and played them even if they were past it.

Malky spent a lot of money on new players and never played them.


We are a mental club

I much prefer Malky as a manager.

BUT.

I can't help but feel that Dave Jones would have achieved more if he had the same money to spend that Malky did.

Dave Jones performed miracles with scraps. I'd have loved to see how far he could have taken us, if he was properly backed.

Give me Dave Jones over Ole any day of the week.

If DJ had Malkys budget in the summer we'd have stayed up comfortably in my opinion.

I'd be happy for him to replace Ole at the end of the season.

the reason malky gets shit on here is because people are getting fed up with hearing how great he was blah blah. in a wierd way its the malky lovers that are the ones who his tarnishing his name, if people learnt to let go he would of left a hero
