QPR?

Tue Apr 08, 2014 11:22 pm

If (when) we go down, everyone is saying we will have to sell our best players (Medal, Caulker...) But no one has mentioned what QPR did when they went down. Instead of getting rid of Remy, Mbia, Taarabt and Park and building a Champ team they loaned them out, why cant/wont Cardiff do this? Would save us some money in the long run + they would get more experience (Making them better players). I would like to think the hierarchy have thought of this and will do it. :ayatollah: :bluescarf: :ayatollah:

They only loaned them out because they were on silly money and no one would pay full whack of their wages.

Not really, cus they got 2 mill+ as a loan fee for Remy, just Good business tbh. Plus they got to the teams still have to pay the wages for the players.

They don't pay full whack.

I can see the logic in loaning caulker but at the same time I can see why they would want the money in to rebuild a flaky squad.

Medel imo can go, he has been been disappointment and if we can get him off the wage bill and get half of what we paid back we will be lucky. My worry is if we were paying Cornelius 45k a week then what are we paying Medel.

What a wonderful post. Did you know that the big bad wolf didn't really devour little red riding hoods grandma? She actually survived to live a long and fruitful life! :laughing6:

I honestly think Medal has been our best player all season, People really dont understand the role he plays in. His role is to be a destroyer not to do fancy tricks, His pass is the best in the squad imo. He keeps the team stable when he doesn't play or comes off before time is up we look a absolute shambles although I do agree paying what we did was a tad to much but had we had stability this season would anyone be questioning him?

I know that but Im sure that was the only way QPR would allow him to go, If a team came in with a £2 mill loan bid and full wages?

In honesty I'd expect Caulker, Medel, and probably Mutch and Marshall to go permenantly and to more successful clubs than us.

I read a while back that Medel was on £35,000 a week.

Hmm, cant really see anyone putting in a that would be excepted for Mutch, only because he's injury prone and Its a big risk.

He has been our star out field player though, Leceister is who I think will bid.

I'm sorry but that is nonsense. Anyone with a brain understands his role but he doesn't play it very well does he? Look at our defensive record, it is a shambles and Medel's job is to help the defence and be the "destroyer" yet he has failed at doing that.

Plus no chance has he been better than Marshall. If it wasn't for Marshall then we'd already be down.

QPR aren't a model club to follow in terms of structure. They've been badly run for many seasons and should've pissed the league this season. There's a number of overpaid players not pulling their weight and if they don't come up via the play-offs this season then there's trouble.

Tbh I ment to type outfield player. And how does he not do it well? He's made 59 interceptions (averaging 2 per game) and 56 clearances (averaging 2 per game) almost the same as Tom Huddlestone + better defensively than Yaya Toure. He rarely gives the ball away (apart from West Brom) and he's only one player, at the start of the season we could've had the best defender in the world and make him look bad because we were playing Turner, Taylor and KTC along side him... Because look at our defensive record. Our defence is constantly under pressure and his job is to stop that but he can't because he is unfit and slow.

 If you think Yaya is a defensive midfielder. Fernandinho does the dirty work while Yaya goes forward so comparing their defensive records is like apple and oranges. Huddlestone has a range of passing though. He shuttles it from deep and helps the defence which Medel can't do, instead he is passing it 5 yards to the left and the right so that is why his passing stat is high, like Britton for example. I do know that a DM is meant to do that so bringing up their passing stats is stupid.

Ironic thing is he was at his best at the start of the season, slowly started to decline when teams realised he isn't the player that he is hyped up to be thus allowing our defence to be easily explotied because of Medel's inability to protect his defence properly.

Also stats are easily manipulated (refer to my part on the passing stat) and football isn't played on computers. I'd rather watch Medel with my eyes than read some stats on the computer. :old: :old:

QPR are playing a risky game though.

I assume the idea was to loan them out and get them back in for the start of the new season back in the Premier League. What happens if they don't go back up, do they loan them out again and chance another season?

Before you know it you have an expensive player nearing the end of a contract and leaving for pennies.

If you can get most of your money back you cash in straight away.

For me although Medel does a decent job at sweeping up for a defensive midfielder he lacks positions sense and strength. He is decent but not what we paid.
