"High work rate but can't finish"

Why do I keep seeing people use this phrase when referring to Campbell? He's scored 6 league goals, 9 in all competitions in a piss poor team which doesn't create chances. Personally I think he's done really well this season. Look at last season when he came here and couldn't stop scoring despite hardly playing for nearly a year.

If you look at the chances he has not a lot of them are clear cut chances. Only ones that come to mind are headers, but he's not the biggest so it's obviously not his strong point

he has had a fair clear cut chances that hes just wasted or hit straight at the keeper, hes done well this season no doubt about it but if he puts away more of the chances he gets we could potentially have a few more points on the board

Lacks quality in all his game tbh but makes up for it with good attitude and work rate. I like him.

If a few more players showed his endeavour and attitude we could be in a different place right now. City fans have always preferred a trier to someone more talented. Campbell i always feel needs a little run of goals and he could kick on a bit. One of the few players who can hold their head up high at the end of the season.

He was finishing left right amd centre in the champ. I bet if he had exactly the same goalscoring opportunities he's had this year but in the champ he'd have twice as many goals.

He was lethal in the championship. Has missed a few easier chances this season but he's probably fucked from chasing the ball down in the left back position 30 seconds earlier.

Worth a shout at top scorer next season if we go down and he stays, his injuries seem to have been put behind him

He's one of those strikers who is too good for the championship but lacks the finishing instinct and consistency in front of goals to be successful in front of goals. I would like to see how he does in a team who have more quality than us to see if he would score more goals. He's got the one big plus in that he plays his heart out every time he steps on the pitch

To be fair his finishing does let him down, don't get me wrong I think he could get a good 10-15 goals in the championship next year but his finishing is not Premier League standard. I love the guy for his work rate and hunger on the pitch and I think he'd be a perfect partner for someone who has a real knack of scoring goals. Depending on who stays at the club next season we could have an exciting striker force, with Campbell, Mason and Maynard I think we've got top end championship strikers and we have the possibility of Healey playing a part.

Campbell is one of a very small number of players who can walk away at the end of the season with a bit of credit.

He can't finish and it's evident to see, fans are suckers for players with a good work ethic. Whilst Campbell puts in a decent shift it's clear that he's not good enough for the Premier League

If we had better players behind him who played to Campbell's strength then he'd be in double figures by now.

its very difficult to judge..........he does work hard..and certainly hasnt wasted chance after chance......is he making the rite runs..or in the right places..is a bit more difficult to judge in such a poor team tbh

Will score goals for fun in Championship he's proved that.

But you do wonder if OGS wants him if he'd prefer a Jones model striker with attacking midfielders. OGS wasn't flattering of him when he came in and has signed two and attempted to sign another during his reign.

Well to be fair he did score in Ole's testimonial rather than pass the ball to him.

I would have suspended him from the club as soon as I arrived if it had happened to me.
