Colour doesn't bother me and never has. The only things that doesn't change is change itself. The most cynical will say it was ona whim, the less so will say it was based on superstition, others will say it was a business decision. For me Tan has said it was to make us more marketable in the far east and it would seem to make sense and I don't have any reason to doubt it.
As a few others have pointed out. I'm highly suspicious that it is only within the past few weeks as performances have soured have the protests ramped up. I also do believe that Mackay was used as a pawn in the game between those who oppose the re-brand and Tan. His management style was overly cautious but I am grateful for all he achieved at the club. However, I was massively disappointed with his behaviour from the point that Moody got sacked. I feel he squealed a lot to the press, purposefully tried to rile Tan (and whatever you think of him he was still his boss) through the media and tried to manipulate the fans to also get them onside. Had he not done all that I probably would have still been very supportive of him. But that disappointed me massively! I think he is limited tactically and do honestly also think he will end up int he lower league eventually.
Good business, spend 147 Million GBP and get relegated and destroyed the soul of a football club ?
I still will hold faith that he will convert his debt to equity. Just because he hasn't yet doesn't make him a liar. I said I would post an update on what has happened the last 2 days tonight. It didn't mean I was a liar up until the moment I posted it. Now if Tan does go and the the debt isn't converted then yes, he will be a liar. But until that point I won't presume guilty until proven innocent.
Destroyed the sould of a club??/ He's changed the colour. People don't like it, I appreciate that. But my point all along is that despite our differences we should still show each other respect and civility. However, each fan in their own way has made their own decision to turn on each other to the point of attack. That is what has destroyed the soul of our club. Ridsdale did things fans didn't like, we allowed that to make us turn on each other too, and Jones, and Malky and Hammam. Ok, tan has done something particularly contentious which has particularly heightened emotions, but we each bear our own responsibility for the actions we have taken in response to this.
How's that work then exactly ?
