A forum for all things Cardiff City

Pros:
- We get our night games back [Night games are one of my favourite things about going to watch the City and I've missed them this year]
- Less plastics
- Less chance of getting smashed 3-0 every week.
- Less red in the stadium.
- Cheaper away days.
Cons:
Nope, can't think of any.
Roll on next season!

A lot of City fans could not afford the away games this season and those that managed to go, many said they could not afford to go away again next season.

Never understand people that say this.
So you are going into next season in the hope you lose enough games to not be promoted?

With the extra games in the championship does it not even itself out a little?

If there are no negatives and only positives to being relegated and he doesnt like the Prem....
Then surely he wont want to get promotion from the championship as it brings everything he has just waxed lyrical about leaving behind and thus would rather lose the sufficient amount of games which makes promotion not achievable.
Tue Apr 08, 2014 11:24 am
It's such a double edged sword. I love the fact that I can say Cardiff City are in the Premiership, but even then, it isn't the Cardiff City that I fully know and love....
I'm devastated that we will be getting relegated, but I do also think that by taking the hit of relegation, it is the best way to rid ourselves of Tan (just my belief).
Hopefully, we can then gain stability and take on the challenge of getting to the top table again, but this time as the real Cardiff City, with a blue kit and a bluebird crest.

if he was meaning it like that yeah i agree i dont get people who want to be relegated then stay in the same league.. when we go down i hope we ship out all the shit players who dont wont to be here re build and start again and fight for promotion and if we go up have a better season than this year and manage to stay up

Same woth our fans. We had some beauts wanting to get knocked out of Europe to concentrate on a high league finish (which yep you guessed it, is only worth doing because it gives european football).

Pro's:
Cheaper more enjoyable away days, and generally trated better as travelling/visiting fans
Availability of tickets for family
Con's:
The club loses it's PL status ( I know it's not all about PL)
Tuesday night games, as they are a nightmare to get to after work

Opinions, no matter how stupid need to be respected.

Where haven't I respected it?
Ive just asked if as a result he wants to lose the sufficient amount of games next season in order to finish outside the top 6.
Going to a game in the hope you lose seems odd to me.
Tue Apr 08, 2014 11:58 am
If we were blue I wouldn't mind going down.

Pretty much sums up what I think.

Agree with this 100% Let's take the pain now but rebuild, get OUR Club back and come back stronger.

Pro's
1- Not being so blinded by the thought of promotion that all other issues become secondary
2- Allowing us to prepare correctly for the premier league if we get promoted.
3- Not being in the media's eye every week. We are the well that never stops giving
4- Not accepting that 0-0 is a result
5- Not seeing "fans" you know don't even know who the players who's pictures are on the walls
6- Hearing away fans take the piss
7- Seeing the odd kid make it from the academy/Development
Con's
1- Not going to the Emerates, Anfield, Goodison, O/T
2- Nobody outside South Wales will know we exist
Tue Apr 08, 2014 5:24 pm

Of course most of us would have preferred to have stayed up but for proper fans, it's not the end of the world, it's still football and it can be nice being a bigger fish in a small pool than a small fish in a big pool.
The constant coverage is good for a while but wears thin as the season goes on, plus the unwanted attention when Tan makes a statement or when Malky got sacked for example.
Anyway it is why it is and I will look forward to next season again, just as much as I did this season, God knows what will happen but it will be interesting ...........
I have surprised myself though, I thought I would have been gutted, but seem to have accepted it no badly at all, maybe it's the practice from all the playoffs and final defeats, it has made us more resilient???
Tue Apr 08, 2014 8:32 pm
Con. Relegation
Pro. We dust ourselves down and go again, learn from the mistakes made by all, and come back stronger.

With Leeds getting a new owner in with loads of money I think the championship will be quite tough. Incase of relegation, I think the best thing for Cardiff would be if QPR doesn't get a promotion now as their wage bills are out of control and they'll have to downsize massively - effectively removing a top championship team (QPR spends more on wages than Borossia Dortmund...).
I think much of the squad could use a relegation though, as stupid as that sounds. Eikrem, Dæhli, Fabio and Cala will be giants in the championship and get time to bulk up for the EPL.
