Cardiff City boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer vows to ditch 'dissenting' players who defied his instructions during sorry Crystal Palace defeat .

Moments after his Cardiff City team had all but surrendered their Premier League status on Saturday, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer launched a stunning attack on some of his players

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has accused some of Cardiff City’s players of going against his instructions as the Bluebirds’ Premier League survival hopes were crushed by Crystal Palace.

And the furious Cardiff manager insisted he will ditch the dissenters come next week’s clash with Southampton, claiming he is not ready to give up on the club’s relegation battle just yet.

Solskjaer’s barb at the team came as his Bluebirds surrendered any reasonable chance of pulling off a great escape front when Tony Pulis’ Palace eased to a 3-0 victory at Cardiff City Stadium.

The result leaves Cardiff six points adrift with just five games to go. Three of them are away, to Southampton, Sunderland and Newcastle, with Stoke and Chelsea still to visit the Welsh capital.

The Bluebirds boss admitted a season blighted by controversy has taken its toll on his players, but let slip he had been upset by what he hinted was some of them going off-message at such a critical time.

Asked if he thought he had the players good enough and with the confidence to keep on fighting, Solskjaer said: “Yes, most of them. The ones that are going to be involved. The ones I will pick will have belief in them, don’t worry about that. I need players with calmness, belief, leadership and...loyalty.”

Asked whether his emphasis on the word loyalty suggested he had been upset by something, Solskjaer replied: “Yes. In training and in games you have plans, you have strategies and you follow them, okay?”

The Cardiff chief did not go into detail or name players he was angry with. Asked what his reaction was in the dressing room, he stated: “That is between us. That is in the dressing room and won’t come out of the dressing room.”

But Solskjaer did admit he will have a difficult job in picking up his players for the matches left, with hope of keeping the club’s top-flight status seemingly lost. He admitted a season which has seen protests against the owner and the controversial sacking of Malky Mackay has taken its toll mentally on players and fans alike.

But Solskjaer insisted insist he as manager – and not under-performing players – will shoulder the blame for a wretched run of results.

“I take full responsibility for every single thing that happened out there,” said Solskjaer. “If players are making mistakes, it is me coaching them every single day, I am responsible for their performances.”#

So although he is reluctant to let us know the aforementioned players he is speaking about we should be able to work out by process of elimination exactly who he is referring to when he selects the team to play against Southampton next Saturday.

Hmmmmmmm interesting :?:
